Comments Thread For: Charles Martin Wants Kownacki Rematch or Luis Ortiz Fight

Adam Kownacki will fight at some point this summer in what the Polish contender hopes will be his final bout before earning a shot at WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder late this year. Kownacki hasn't specified who he'd like to box next, but Charles Martin hopes Kownacki will at least consider a rematch. Martin, a former IBF champion, and Kownacki went at it for 10 competitive, compelling rounds September 8 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Kownacki's hometown.

    Ortiz-Martin? I'll take that in a heartbeat.

Arreola is also on the comeback trail, that would be a damn good fight.

Why not? Kownacki struggled with him.

If Charles Martin beat Ortiz that would be the single funniest day in history on this site.

Charles Martin had his chance, believed his own hype, blew it, went MIA and recorded some of the worst reggae/hiphop crossover music ever heard before deciding to try boxing again. If he was a bit older it would have been a mid-life crisis.
He may not like, it but unless he does something amazing completely out of the blue he is now in that group just below the genuine contenders - the one that prospects use as a stepping stone to get a decent ranking, or ranked fighters use for stay busy fights.
