The business model works because even in third world countries, almost everyone has a smartphone. I've seen it with my own two eyes. I knew a Jose who had a dirt floor and an iPhone 4. Dude was my driver for awhile, he kept a large battery pack and charged it at a store during the day.

My point is that if you reach a much larger market, you can make much more money, even if it is only a few bucks.

They also make a killing selling your data without your consent. Suprisingly, few care about this or what it's building into.

This right here is so important. So if Skipper told GGG he will get the winner of Canelo/Jacobs next, then that is exactly what happens even if Canelo has a rematch clause. Remember when the week of Canelo/Fielding you had Oscar saying Jacobs or GGG are part of their plans for May? Well, at that same time you had Hearn saying DAZN REALLY wants the Jacobs fight next. He kept always mentioning DAZN wanting and pushing for that fight. And what ended up happening? We ended up getting the Jacobs fight. So for those who say well if Canelo wins then he has a rematch with Jacobs so GGG may be screwed? Think again, if Skipper promised GGG the winner of Canelo/Jacobs in September? Then that is what will happen.

I've been saying a long time that I think Hearn is DAZN's head of boxing. He has a lot more power than what people think. This talk of Golden Boy eventually getting the power is nonsense. Its obvious now Hearn has a **** ton of cash, they just had to make an adjustment to get Canelo on board.

I'm sure Hearn has his say as he has a personal relationship with the heads of DAZN, but this goes further than that. This is John mutha f'n Skipper. As I said when he got on board, he is a true deal maker. Skipper knows how to close the deal. He was the one in GBP's offices for two weeks before the deal was signed. If GGG gets on with DAZN, it will be mainly because of Skipper. Any big deals for DAZN, it will be Skipper getting it done.

LOL of course Skipper, but its all and good whilst hes got only boxing to deal with. He's got a ton of **** coming at him to make DAZN work. Boxing will be the least of his concerns

Definitely. Boxing will be close to the bottom of DAZN's priority list if they are able to get other sports leagues. DAZN is supposedly paying more for the MLB show than they are for boxing which is pretty nuts considering how much they are spending on boxing. And I don't think that MLB deal was good either. I'm not a baseball fan, but ESPN just dropped their MLB show. Why? Because baseball only matters in the local markets. Doesn't compare to say the NBA, and definitely not to the NFL.

I wonder though if DAZN would have entered the US market earlier if they would have had a legitimate shot at getting the UFC. We know how much ESPN is paying for it, but could DAZN have made a legitimate run at it? Or the ESPN beast was always going to win since they also have a linear platform? Boxing is never going to be a game changer for DAZN but as we seen with ESPN+, UFC is a whole another story.

His.....wife???? Lol, she is supposedly running these meetings, not Loeffler or anyone else.

Really looks like a no-brainier for that type of money and being able to get the potential third Canelo fight???

No way in hell anyone except Floyd and Canelo can turn down a 2 fight deal at that number right now. That is more than Manny and AJ make in 2 fights.

It will definitely be Hearn, not Skipper, who negotiates and closes deals with fighters and other promoters, with Skipper setting the financial limits. You don't keep a dog and bark yourself!

According to Hearn's account of how Canelo and GBP ended up with DAZN, Eddie called Skipper as soon as he heard about HBO crashing out and told him, "we have to get Canelo"

Skipper agreed and told Hearn to go and get him. Hearn asked how much money was available and Skipper replied, "as much as it takes"

The GBP/DAZN link followed on from that and was worked out by the top execs and lawyers of both outfits. Pure businesss stuff like that will be where Skipper does his thing.
