No one is saying Golovkin is washed up or isn't still a top level fighter. He is, but he's not going to all of a sudden get better at the age of 37.

If he has been struggling weight then maybe 168 is the exact move he needs to make.

I said GGG beats Plant and Benavidez. He’s already better than them. Golovkin doesn’t need to get “better,” nor is he venturing to 175. People need to give Alvarez more credit. The contrast in why people are theorizing on Golovkin’s improvement is because he fought a Prime phase of Canelo. Golovkin has the ring IQ to still dismantle many without effort. If Canelo focused purely on defense in his first fight against Golovkin, why wouldn’t Golovkin approach a similar strategy for himself against tougher competition?

Golovkin in his later years looks way better than his earlier years. Marquez, Pac, Bhop, Mayweather, much of their late success came from bettter intuition against their opponents. AJ was tough for Klitchko, but a 39 year old Klitchko May have beaten him.

Golovkin a very smart fighter in the ring as is Canelo. I don’t see Plant nor Benavidez with the same defensive IQ as Canelo. Easy wins for GGG
