One would imagine that the WBC would kindly work with Haymon for Benavidez' Diamond Belt status return and the opportunity for Golovkin to fight for it. With such a long layoff, and Gennady knowing Benavidez in sparring. I think Golovkin has easy opportunities for that fight and against Plant. So Golovkin can become a 2 division Champion under PBC which would drastically improve his legacy. There are also rumors of Charlo moving to 168 if he had problems making weight at 160. Lots of great fights for Golovkin at PBC.
I mean no, it has been mentioned in this thread of all the possibilities for GGG. You could have 154 pounders coming up to MW or you can have GGG move up to 168. I already said if folks are going to mention Lemieux/Smith as possibilities, then Hurd/Plant/Benavidez need to be mentioned as well.

Really comes down to how bad he wants Canelo. Because if he does, and it will be by far the biggest pay day, this isn't something you need to think hard about. Easy decision. If not? Then that's a different ball game.

Not too sure. You must wonder what happened with Golovkin's psychology after the Canelo series under Loeffler, and why there's news regarding GGG and his former promoter.

So ask yourself, GGG has already made GREAT money, why would he bother with Canelo again given their narratives from Clen or score cards?

I will give Gennady the benefit of doubt that under PBC, like Pac, better things are to come, and as I mentioned, I honestly feel GGG beats Plant and Benavidez. Therefore, if GGG's mind is straight, he will continue with the idea of being a 2 Division Champ and forget about Canelo Alvarez.

There's more glory for Golovkin being a 2 Division Champ with limited fights with PBC. Think about it, if GGG takes the belt from Plant, and by this time didn't renew with PBC, then there's a door open for continued 168 fights at DAZN?!

GGG has great options. We should let go of the Canelo fight for the time being. If they meet again, it can be at 168 and with new dynamics there too, meaning GGG will be stronger at 168. And lastly, if GGG goes to DAZN, he will still be quickly B side against Canelo. At least with GGG under PBC, he will have better leverage to demand different circumstances when DAZN offers something new.

So again, GGG has great options.

GGG fights for money just like anyone else. I mean dude is going to get 8 figures for a damn tune up level of fight.

Yes, if he wants to move up to 168 then PBC has two good options for him. DAZN has a really good option in Smith at 168 as well.

But like I said, if he wants that Canelo trilogy and the biggest pay day, he goes to DAZN. If he doesn't care too much about the Canelo fight? Then this becomes more of a discussion.

Showtime Sports is in momentum with PPV. PPV is also like ********. If there's any theory that Golovkin vs Charlo does better numbers than Mikey vs Spence, then this is why Showtime Sports is willing to invest in Golovkin's name. When we hear Al Bernstein and Mauro Ranallo say Golovkin's name it brings something new to the table, same way Ranallo nicely brings Pac back to life.

Even more so, depending on the odds, if many feel that Charlo could pull an upset fighting GGG at 160, then it is the reason why PBC wants Golovkin. Or like I said, GGG vs Charlo, Plant, or Benavidez at 168 are all high profile fights with a possibility of PPV.

We won't know real details yet. Until GGG's contracts are disclosed then we'll know the strategy established.

I don't just assume Gennady is all about the money. I think circumstances have changed with his management. Gennady might even have a new character. For instance, will Gennady ever bring up Mexican Style again? I think that marketing has sailed away, which means, Golovkin would be acknowledging that it was wrong to begin with, and that means the REAL Golovkin might be even better to come.

Come on man, you're looking at this way too deep. Of course SHO or whoever will be interested in Golovkin. Still one of the biggest names stateside.

And yes, building Charlo off GGG is one reason PBC would be after him. That also has been mentioned already.

Bring his name back to life? Are you serious right now? Lol.

Yes, Benavidez and Plant are options if GGG wants to go up to 168.

REAL Golovkin comes out at the age of 37? Better than ever eh? Cool story.

Golovkin is a good fighter. Just like Crawford so late in age moving to 147 versus other Welters that were there before, Golovkin will do better at 168 fully recuperated. The layoff that Golovkin has taken will be to his full advantage.

The problem is that many think Golovkin needed to fight a certain way, as they say Mexican Style, which is utter garbage. Golovkin can fight any way he pleases to win. Golovkin has good ring IQ on the backfoot. He could implement that if in danger at 168. However, a 168 Golovkin will look more beast mode and ripped, and the power will be there.

No one should take Golovkin litely on his return. Golovkin isn't the only fighter who has gone past 37 years of age. This whole idea of him going downhill is ridiculous.

No one is saying Golovkin is washed up or isn't still a top level fighter. He is, but he's not going to all of a sudden get better at the age of 37.

If he has been struggling weight then maybe 168 is the exact move he needs to make.

Same here. GGG is alright in my book but this is seriously overpaying him.

I'm actually worried as DAZN might spend too much then realize they've made a mistake investing soo much cash into our guys and boxing in general.

GGG at this point is worth 10 to 15 million a fight, TOPS.
