I didn't score it quite this way but Edwards giving Wilder 1, 6 and 7 is not crazy.

The 1 card was bad, but 114-112 for Wilder was reasonable, and if that would been his score it still would have been a draw. Heck, if he would have scored it 113-113, that would have been a Majority Draw decision.
I gave Wilder 4 rounds and had Fury winning, but there was easily a round that was a coin flip to me, if it went the other way that would have been 113-113 on my card.
No problem with a draw even though I had Fury winning.Comment

I am in redneck land. Even here people know Fury won, Others are just making and finding ways to make excuses.
Some might be paid, others, just plain ******.
If there is a second fight, Wilder will loose everything. He will get KO'd by Fury.
He is better of by making a real big fight, and get some money. out of AJ, who will probably KO him too.
Wilder is not on the level of AJ or Fury.
In and out of the ring, Fury has ONE big, enormous advantage when he is functioning properly, like ha has. Fury has a brain!Comment

had fury winning on first watch, just re watched and the fight was alot closer than you all are putting out, alot of the rounds were very close, the draw makes sense, fury did not do much offensively, he controlled the pace and did good avoiding the right, wilder looked sloppy at times but im not seeing this dominant shut out that posters are speaking of. if it was there then id admit it. go re watch the fight and show me domination by fury. that last knock down justified the draw.Comment

Neither guy did much. With Wilder coming forward loading up and missing big shots and Fury constantly on the back-foot throwing jabs at the air.
Anybody that doesn't think that this fight was close needs an ophthalmologist immediately . I have Wilder winning 114-112 but for the sake of argument, I'll settle for the draw.
And for you clowns in here who think that, somehow, Fury dominated the fight, again I say go have your eyes checked. You can't dominate a fight going backwardComment

That's because what boxing commentators say can influence the gullible viewer. It would've been nice to have had a poll of who won from the crowd who were actually there. I bet it would tell a different story.had fury winning on first watch, just re watched and the fight was alot closer than you all are putting out, alot of the rounds were very close, the draw makes sense, fury did not do much offensively, he controlled the pace and did good avoiding the right, wilder looked sloppy at times but im not seeing this dominant shut out that posters are speaking of. if it was there then id admit it. go re watch the fight and show me domination by fury. that last knock down justified the draw.Comment

I do see and appreciate your logic. You're right, it's not the Olympics, but its also not 1876 when the referee just raised the hand of the guy who he thought won (presumably "the guy he would rather be at the end"). The scoring logic that you defend is not consistent with the 10 point must system, which is what is prescribed by the Association of Boxing Commission's Unified Rules of Boxing (go Harold Lederman!). Whichever criteria you apply for determining the winner of a round (effective aggression, Clean/hard punching, etc.), it is worth only 1 point. The winner gets the 10-9. You determine that first, then deduct points for knockdowns and fouls. Boxing judging is subjective, but there is also a methodology behind the scoring. Too many fans and judges want to give extra points for kds, but its just not consistent with the rules.I see where you are going, but in a round, who would you rather be, the guy who got hit with a few light jabs and a couple of arm punches or the guy who got hit so hard he fell down because his brain got scrambled.
How hard you hit the other fighter counts for something. It's not the Olympics.Last edited by NachoMan; 12-05-2018, 10:07 AM.Comment

Dude, you don't need an ophthalmologist. If you seriously scored the fight 114-112 for Wilder, you need to first get some ****-ing eyes!Neither guy did much. With Wilder coming forward loading up and missing big shots and Fury constantly on the back-foot throwing jabs at the air.
