What Are the Holes in Loma's Game?

I have plenty of praise for Lomachenko but no one's perfect. As I see it, I does tend to lunge in sometimes like he did against Linares and got caught. At lot of folks say he uses arm punches which he does but I can't see that as a flaw, considering he does seem to put more steam on his punches when his opponents become more stationary. So what do you guys think? What are the holes?

If Linares can send him to the mat, there's no telling if his chin would hold up to guys like Mikey or fighters in the higher weight classes.

Even Floyd got hit sometimes. It's boxing, your chin will be tested. Up until Linares, Lomachenko mostly fought guys he was naturally bigger than. We don't know if he can take the heat from a larger, more powerful puncher until we actually see it.

The main thing I see from my armchair position is sometimes when he’s having lots of success with his footwork and is landing lots of shots, he gets a little carried away with punching and opens himself up as we saw vs Linares.

He doesn’t forget about defense often doe. Other than that, he doesn’t make many mistakes that I see.

In only 12 fights, I haven't see many weaknesses but maybe in the Linares fight he became a little complacent.
I'm sure he can improve on his defence and his chin hasn't really been tested yet.

          Cant think of any

And if a guy gets up straight away from a knockdown it probably is an indication of a good chin

His inside game is the weakest range for him. Mid range he is king, and his feet keeps him dominant at long range, but in the phone-booth he can get out muscled

Lomachenko's entire game is dependent on his opponent coming out of position and giving him an opening to fire his shots.

If the opponent doesn't just give Lomachenko the opening, he's yet to develop the tools to create his own opening

What kind of bull**** is this? How do people keep lying through their teeth?

Sosa, Walters, Roman Martinez, Linares, Salido--- almost every major fight Loma was in he was outweighed. Only Rigo and Marriaga (arguably) were smaller fighters.

Hell, even Russell Jr. weighed slightly more than Lomachenko on fight night.

His jab is very fast and untelegraphed, but it's kinda weak. It accomplishes its goal though.

I think his biggest flaw is that he shells up too much and doesn't punch enough when pushed backwards. It's why Salido beat him and why he lost rounds to Gary Russel Jr. He'd be pushed backwards with no response. He hasn't fought a proper pressure fighter since then also. Those pressure fighters also will land that left hook to the body which seems to be the punch he gets hit with most often.

Stop running into punches, especially from vicious powerpunchers.
