If the Lacy fight didn't stop you from hating on Calzaghe, consider that Calzaghe met your beloved Roy Jones at the De La Hoya/Mosley fight in 2000 and Jones told Calzaghe that he was a big fan of his and told him he'd beat Ottke.
Calzaghe and Jones apparently shared amateur stories and found MANY similarities.

Here's what Jones said on BBC Radio Five Live shortly after Calzaghe/Lacy: "He keeps proving himself again and again and again. I don't know why he gets so many critics, what's the big problem? What i dont understand is though how Zaghe was disliked so much before the Lacy fight but then after the Lacy fight he was liked.What changed?I dont quiet understand why he was disliked so much before when he already beat everyone else easily and its not like he came over here to fight Jeff.

OK i already hear the haters saying Jeff was over rated.Thats bull**** btw he had over 200 wins as an am, 2000 Olympian and demolishing everyone he fought apart from Sheika is not down to luck.Now he will knock Tarver OUT.It was just a masterclass from Zaghe thats all, but i download a few of Zaghe's other fights and he is just as good so why was the hate!?

Cuz before Lacy he had fought nothing but bums and shot fighters. He was also (and still is) scared to fight outside of Europe

I looked at his ledger and found that he has only one time ever fought a guy with less then 10 fights, ever! Thats carrying amatuer credentials.

The guy is fast and the guy is good. But man, if he would just turn those shots over he would have such greater potencey.

And I dont believe it was because he was scared. It was because he could make big-BIG bucks fighting in England and suh. In America he would be a slight draw and thus make less money. It had nothing to do with being scared.
