I actually agree with the anti-GGG troll. I think you should have to account for Canelo's win over GGG as close as it was.

P4P is completely a mythical list. If you have Canelo as number one fine.

But if you beat the champion in a division you become the number one guy in that division. Now if you are arguing that Smith isn’t the best at 168lbs then that would make more sense. I think Ring has probably the fairest rankings. They have Callum as the Champion. Who ever beats him is going to be their champion unless he vacates or retires. Beat Callum and you become the man at 168lbs.

Not tough. Just use some common sense and take out your fanaticism. I don’t think you can do it.

Anyways, I’m skeptical Smith will see either Canelo or Golovkin.

Common sense is to have the guy that just won rated above the loser.

On a P4P list I can see that. But not at 168lbs pure ranking. You beat the champion and you are the champion. Now if Canelo was facing Zurdo or Benavidez and won okay that seems more reasonable. Fielding is not one of the top 5 guys in the division, he is borderline top 10.

If Jacobs beats Canelo is he not the top guy at 160lbs though he lost to Golovkin? But it can’t be Golovkin because he didnt get the decision vs. Canelo. But Canelo can’t be the man because he lost to Jacobs. This just goes in a circle. I guess the answer then would be Pirog.

There are divisions for a reason. At 168lbs if you beat the champion you are the champion. That doesn’t mean you are P4P higher.

Yes Canelo is rated higher at 160lbs than Golovkin. He got the win vs. the champion.

Bottom line. Smith is a good fighter. Fielding isn't.

I said this a while back. That was when Murata was still an option. Makes even more sense now. If Golovkin still really has the passion go be the best of just wants one last big fight against Canelo.

There is no lineal champion. You can have non-title holder rated above a title holder. Happens all the time.

Bottom line Canelo JUST beat Golovkin, but one fight later you want the win to be wiped because they both move up 8lbs. GTFOH.

If you believe as I do that Smith is the champion of the division, albeit there are other good fighters in it, when you beat the guy you become the guy in that division.

Now you can make a case that there may be other guys right now at 168lbs who deserve a first shot at Smith first. I don’t know enough to speak to that.
