It seems like he can't make weight anymore. Especially with the new WBC weigh-in rules.

Wasted his prime lol. Ramirez is 27. He's just entering his prime most likely. Or might not even be there yet.

Benavidez is good, but he's young and doesn't seem to be improving much.
He's only had a couple meaningful fight and I thought he showed a lot of improvement in the Gavril rematch.

Callum has the best, and clearest claim to SMW #1. The other 3 are really far behind.
The Groves win was solid no question, but besides that he did what he was supposed to vs lower level guys pre-WBSS and he looked like garbage & extremely beatable in his other WBSS fights. When you consider Groves has always lost his biggest fights that makes that win for Callum look less impressive for me.

Mainly doe I just think everyone else at 168 has a solid arguement for being more skilled than him. Smith's largely won his most competitive looking fights on size. None of these other guys are THAT small.

Jose U. Is a juice not worth the squueze bad mfer. I'm already saying Benavidez gots hof potential with what I'm seeing from him at a young age. Its scary how good he might get if he can stay focused on boxing (which seems like that might be his biggest problem right now with the recent coke bs). And while Ramirez has had some closer fights and seems like he might be the most beatable of the 4 top guys at 168 I'm not sure anyone has the ring IQ he does or knows what bagging a round looks like quite like he does so I trust him to know when he needs to dial things up or dial things back to best use his energy not unlike BJS who I also believes as a underrated ring IQ.

Whatever doe we shall see soon hopefully with any luck some of these guys figure it out.

I feel like Callum being with DAZN makes him a better pick & more makeable fight for both.

And TR seems a lil more protective of Ramirez and virtually never talk of Ramirez vs other guys outside of TR like he does with his other top guys. I'm not sure TR has had "Canelo vs Ramirez" bs in there mouth at all since Canelo announced their move. Certainly they've not had that in their mouth enough cuz I'm not tired of hearing about it like I get with a lot of TR's talking about cross promotion fights. Maybe he's just saving it for the week of the Ramirez vs Hart II fight idk.

He weighed 168.3lbs for the 30 day weigh in, and 163.6lbs for the 14 day weigh in. Those are well within the 10% and 5% limits set for those days respectively.

The WBC doesn't determine what GGG has to do to get the Canelo rematch. Its the biggest fight available for both of them and Canelo has another belt. After the WBC ruled that Canelo had to defend his belt against GGG or get stripped Canelo got pissed off. He gave up the belt and refused to work with them. They spent years trying to get back in his good graces. Are they going to risk that relationship to do right by Jermall Charlo. Hell no.

Worse comes to worse, if the WBC decides to live up to its own rules and decisions Canelo will just give up the belt to fight GGG. He's given up belts to make the fights he wants before and he'd do it again.

Canelo doesn't want to have anything to do with Charlo and GGG doesn't need Charlo to get the fight he wants. Charlo will get his title shot eventually but it won't be after the fight with Willie Monroe Jr that's for sure. But is that fair to Charlo? Hell no. But maybe if he was treated by like a main event fighter by his own promoter he'd be in a better position to get these big fights. As it is this fight in December will be the first time he's ever been the main event on a big fight card. Its just sad that he only got it because he won a coin toss with his brother and not because his promoter was giving him the push he deserved.

Bob Arum is a *****. Maybe in his day he was a great promoter but now he's an impediment to many of his best fighters careers. That being said, I am sure he'll remind Ramirez to call out Canelo. Even someone as senile as Arum would see that fight as too big to pass up.

Its all about getting a clean and objective lineage of champions. I just don't agree with rankings that don't take into account history especially recent history.
                  Agree to disagree.

IF and it is a big IF for many reason, Golovkin fought Smith and beat him he’d be viewed as the top guy at 168lbs by almost everyone ranking the division I believe. He’d also likely be te underdog vs. Canelo. I think it should be a pick’em fight but not considering the recent official scorecards. Plus tack on another year and fight to Golovkin.
