It's because these aren't boxing fans, they're just UK football fans who have found a new fanboy crush to latch onto. As soon as Joshua loses, they'll be on their way, just like anything else.

Hearn was posturing and never intended on facing Wilder next.

So, if both men wind up splitting a bigger payday than AJ has ever had in one fight, what then?

Cuz the way things are going, it isn't out of the realm of possibility.

AJ's biggest purse was what? 20M dollars or less?

Both men may take home more this fight.

I think a more accurate number is 20M pounds, which is (without doing the calculations) around 27.5M USD.

But yeah, if Wilder takes home 20M USD, he still won't be the A-side, but a 55-45 split becomes feasible.

As if deontay wilder was gonna choose to become the next Rid**** Bowe. It would have been career suicide and killed of HW boxing in America for another 20 years.

Stop bigging him up for accepting to fight a Mando after losing a purse bid . Give him plaudits for Ortiz.. but giving him the accolade of accepting a ****ing mandatory challenger is pathetic .
You can't have it both ways. Does the guy only fight bums and avoid risk or not? Because when he was trying to get Povetkin in the ring, it was Povetkin violating WBC orders and taking other fights to delay the Wilder fight.

If he only fights bums, why is he #2 in Boxrec by such a wide margin? That would be impossible if he was only feasting on bums.

              Be consistent.

And I've said over and over AJ is clearly the #1 heavyweight in the world and has the best resume. Cong**** to AJ. I'm sure he fills his fans' hearts with warmth.

But that's not an excuse to lie about Wilder. Just because AJ is #1 doesn't mean Wilder has only fought bums. Because other than AJ, Wilder has the best resume. So why are we criticizing #2 for only fighting bums? What does that mean #3-100 are doing?

                • a million dolalrs in tickets to a fight in las vegas is a drop in the bucket, dudes.

canelo - golovkin 1 did 25-30 million at the gate.

if it sold out in 25 minutes i'd be super impressed. as it stands i am encouraged, but not at all blown away, and neither should you be!

how does wilder have a better resume than tyson fury?

ranking and resume are different things! you're f#cking nuts if you think wilder's resume, in which his best two wins are bermaine stiverne and going life and death with luis ortiz, holds a candle to the dude who beat wlad klitshcko in 2015 and became the lineal HW champion of the world.

                    f#cking nuts

He ran as fast as he could when presented with the opportunity to do so. Never went back and offered another fight like he did with 50 year old Ortiz.
You're not making any sense because it was Povetkin who violated the WBC order and refused to take the fight and causing it to be delayed. Wilder wanted the fight ASAP.

Wilder could have ditched the belt and faced stablemate Charles Martin for the IBF. But Wilder told Haymon he wasn't willing to ditch the belt.

Wilder didn't run. He wanted to fight Povetkin even after the failed test, but the WBC refused to sanction the fight. Then Povetkin failed ANOTHER test, causing him to get suspended by the WBC. Which is why Wilder couldn't give him a second chance like he did for Ortiz.

I know you love AJ. AJ being the best should be enough to make you happy. Somebody has to be the second best. It happens to be Wilder. There's no reason to lie about him. Just because AJ was talked out of fighting Wilder doesn't mean you should lie about Wilder.
