Povetkin easily! I'd prefer that fight over Joshua vs Povetkin. It'd be similar to the Gassiev vs Dorticos fight.

I thought requesting was who is older?
But povetkin probably better. He's been more of a household name is the only case I have though.

If the referee allows them to fight watch how AJ disposes of Povetkin rather easily. I say the fight won't goes past four rounds because Povetkin can't counter punch, has slow reflexes, easy to hit, have a questionable chin and punches wildly.

AJ couldn't dispose Takam in 4 rounds or at all, who is inferior to Povetkin. So I don't see him disposing Povetkin. AJ probably wins a decision though. His old now, so of course he has slower reflexes now and reduced punch resistance. Common sense!

There are many top Cuban amateurs no doubt good enough to have international success who just don't get selected because of the talent pool. Any other Country he's probably 1st choice.

He did beat notable fighters he just couldn't ever get by Solis.
Yeah i know Cuba had some tremendous fighters at that time, Ortiz was involved in the setup for a very long time, and still did not manage to do anything of note, i find it strange, how people romanticize about him and make threads like this, when Povetkin had a MUCH better amateur career, and a MUCH better professional career. All that is left is a ton of excuses about why Ortiz did nothing in the pro's or amateurs....

his head has always been a magnet for right hands
This Povernov guy who beat Ortiz, lost to both Kubrat Pulev and his brother Tervel Pulev in the amateurs... Also, Pulev, who was an average amateur beat Solis once (out of 5), Ortiz lost 5 times to him. He also lost to Perez, and we know what Povetkin did to Perez in the pros.

Based on their last fights, Ortiz. Four years ago? Probably Povetkin.

You only have to look at what both have achieved amateur and pro to see it's clearly Povetkin. Ortiz was called a bum by the same people who are praising him before Wilder took him on. They thought Wilder was going to duck so got in their smear campaign early. Wilder was saying in every interview that he wouldn't face Ortiz because he was a drug cheat. But when Ortiz signed up with Haymon he promised him a shot at Wilder, so he forced Wilder to take it. Only then did Wilder completely change his tune and claim he was willing to give him a chance. Haha.

they are both pretty good fighters of late pedvtkin hasn't looked too good. Ortiz has better technique and defense while pedvtkin throws more punches but he gets caught and wobbled alot. people will choose pedvtkin because he has more accomplishments but I think Ortiz is better at this point. I would love to see them fight!
Apart from Wlad, who wobbled Povetkin?
