If Canelo could actually win this fight after 4 months of PED testing it would be huge for him. Just having the rematch if he loses would not do anything for him, losing badly would be hard to recover from.

Golovkin already beat Canelo on nearly everyone's card already, so aside from another nice payday, it doesn't mean much. A win over Saunders would mean more.

I guess that's a vote for Canelo, it means more but it might be bad or good...

canelo for the simple fact that he failed the drug test and then pulled out.

ggg dont need to prove anything. the first fight was a draw. ggg didnt get caught with a dirty test.

Financially, I don't think either needs it. IMO Canelo needs it because his two highest profile fights have been weak performances made worse because one judge's scorecard that makes fans think Coka dela Ladle paid off the judge. Canelo also needs the fight to try and move forward from testing positive.

Golovkin is towards the end of his career and Canelo is the only big pay day around. Canelo has many years left and likely many big fights.

Golovkins resume is weak. Weaker than Canelo's.

Golovkin needs it more, both financially and legacy.

neither can make that type of $$$ with anyone else right now, so they both need it...but ggg needs it more cuz he doesn't have long left in the game.

canelo is looking bad, tested positive and he was the one who dropped out of the rematch, GGG kept training as if the fight was still gonna happen, regardless of what people say here. those are facts that can be changed

I think it depends. From a fighting perspective Canelo needs it most, he challenged GGG for his titles and failed. On top of that, most people felt he lost the fight and he screwed up the may rematch with 2 failed drug tests.

From a financial point of view GGG is at the end of his career and hasn't made as much as money as Canelo. And Canelo is by far his biggest paycheck.

It's really up to the fighters' priorities IMO on who would actually need the rematch most. However, if I had to guess I'd say GGG needs it more, even though I think Canelo will be perceived less favorably if the rematch doesn't happen.

Canelo was handed a draw when everyone who watched the fight knows he lost, then he tested positive for PEDs and got the rematch cancelled.

Golovkin has 4 belts, Canelo just has De La Hoya's meaningless Ring title. Even the IBO means more at this point, and that's sad.

Canelo can make more money than Golovkin can if they go their separate ways, but as far as legacy? No contest.
