You're right it isn't, it's just the latest reason. Didn't want to rehash Cotto not fighting Golovkin years ago. Cottos biggest win is a one legged shot Martinez, not to mention his losses to Mayweather, Pacquao, and Canelo. Two of the losses were to all time greats, but Cotto was much bigger in size, and lost. The Canelo loss was unanimous, Golovkin had a "draw". Or that's what they called it

Unless you started watching boxing on you tube last year you wouldn't know Dela Hoya was the cash cow even Benard Hopkins was excited to fight him. Oscar won Olympic Gold and When you fought Oscar your children automatically went to private school. Mosley was pound for pound among the best, Hopkins had a long stretch undefeated. These were the dominant fighters of the era. I can't educate you enough.

GGG is a business man.. what happened to the sports man you guys ate up lol... this guy is an absolute fraud, move on Oscar, GGG doesn’t even deserve 40%.. go fight for a million bucks, fight at stubhub and don’t sell out because you’re fan base will not pay those ticket prices

Why would Cotto have to fight GGG? GGG has never been in a fight that he wasn't the favorite. You can't bring up one of GGG fights on the level of Cotto vs May, Pac , Canelo , Mosley, Margs, etc etc. Name a few of GGG fights where he could prove he is better.
Cotto moved up to MW to beat the lineal champion but you can't tell me anytime that GGG even took a chance like that. Loma does it, KKK takes on the best, GGG not so much.

Mr GGG, a good boxer but terribly managed. He thought he was great fighting the Murrys of this world and other fighters no one had heard of. Now he is in the sun set of his career with a less than stellar resume. He should have fought the likes of Andre Ward when he had a chance and some well known fighters. Sometimes you have to move up to get those guys, Floyd left 135lbs to go to 154 so he could face Dela Hoya, smart business.
Floyd moved up from 147 where he had been for about 1-1/2 years to fight an aging Oscar who had lost 2 of his previous 4. The fight was huge and was a big payday for both fighters.

Other than moving up 1 weight-class, fighting Ward would have been none of the above.

You're wrong ... things have changed a lot after that deal .... Canelo tested positive twice for a substance that, no matter how many excuses they put on and for more than bragging about the hair test, they know that it was their responsibility the revenge fell, and circumstantially everyone knows that Canelo physically changed too much, when before said no.podia do 160 pounds ..... the game now is different, and adding that all objective forgiveness, which have been the most, they agree that GGG won the first fight ... so the least that GGG can accept is 50-50 .... that's it!

                Lol.

Chavez Jr, and Amir Khan both drew well for PPV. Heck, Liam Smith helped Alvarez draw 500k homes.

Golovkin doesn't even come close to drawing the ~350k that Alvarez was getting when he first was running PPV with Lara and Angulo.

And you want to argue that Golovkin gets 45% of the pot? Gtfoh

He didn't show up for the fight on May 5 due to negliance on his part.
