So it's 16 US shows plus the rights to his Sky Sports shows? I can't be bothered to go on BoxRec and count but I'm pretty sure he didn't put on anywhere near 24 British shows last year btw (four PPVs, something like 8-10 regular shows and a few crappy "NXTGEN" shows). I need to know exactly what they will be offering per American show before I decide how big of a deal this is, just knowing that it's seven-figures doesn't tell us much - e.g. $1m per show is probably no more than his HBO deal or Arum's ESPN deal, and I reckon Showtime currently pay about double that much
From January to End of June 2018 Hearn has 10 shows (9 UK shows and 1 US). So he is on pace to have 22 shows for this year without his new deal.
So if there is ever another 1984 team PBC will kill it in that era?
Sh^t man I think Olympic boxing doesn't exist sometime soon. They've been talking about killing boxing at the Olympics since I've been watching Olympic boxing iirc. But I think its merely a matter of time til they pull that trigger. Kinda a whole other subject there doe my bad.
Yea I dig that model which I simply consider the UFC model of "creating stars". Its a machine more than anything close to how they influence who the next stars are in boxing. But I do have doubts that with the bad PR Haymon/PBC has that that can catch on with the masses. Hope I'm wrong cuz ultimately I got no dog in most of these silly lil fights, but I do, as a boxing fan first & foremost, wanna see competitive fight after competitive fight on a boxing card show. Thats the level most pro sport attain to...its bout time boxing makes that their level of quality too.
Joey Spencer just popped up on FS1 in his second fight and looked stellar; Haymon will basically end up with the US Olympic boxing team, but a lot of the top American amateurs will end up with Haymon, too. If Olympic Boxing goes the way of the dodo, the focus shifts to the US Nationals/Worlds for talent.
Haymon's PR is only "bad" in most online forums or places cheerleading HBO. HBO doesn't have much nice to say about the man, but every other broadcaster never has an ill word to say about Haymon.
Toe-to-toe Tuesday/PBC on FS1 has had competitive fights from basically the jump, imo.

Yeah you're right, and he actually put on 20 shows in the UK last year. Just felt like fewer because there were some forgettable ones in there. I doubt the international audience is going to have much interest in shows like Buglioni vs Summers and Bellotti vs Davies. Mainly just making the point that the reported 40 shows per year is probably a target or upper limit rather than a set-in-stone number of dates
This is hilarious, and makes the "agendas" here so easy to spot......
Yeah, the guy who is getting 7-figure license fees per event is going to fail miserably, but the guy who burned through $500 million buying airtime (with nothing to show for it) is a smashing success.
Sometimes it feels like an alternate reality around here lol

Where do you come up with this stuff?
You speak of reality. How do you know what was used and what was it for? Do you have any facts to support the “burn through $500m” that you throw around?
