I mighta asked you this already, but if Hearn & the UFC start picking up the Thurman's, the Spence's, the Charlo's, the Wilder's, the Broner's, the Tank's (once he's done with Floyd), the bigger name headliner PBC type guys. What does that say about your expectations of what the current PBC plan is with this TV deal stuff & in general the future of PBC?

Just a thought
Gary Shaw was on the verge of selling his company to Roc Nation, and the deal only fell through because Roc Nation had no plan to then bring Shaw aboard to run their boxing division.
Why couldn't such a deal happen with Matchroom Sport USA? Find a promoter with a decent stable of fighters and no TV partner, and fold that into Matchroom Sport USA, with said promoter being the day-to-day operations person.
Can't find much on Gary Shaw Productions after 2016, so who knows what's up, but if Eddie Hearn really does have this money in hand, what's to stop him from buying up a few smaller companies without partners, ending up with 20-40 prospects to work with, and then supplement that with whatever fights that Sky Sports doesn't want, with someone else on the ground handling the day-to-day?Comment

I don't know for sure, but Haymon seems pretty comfortable playing the long game; Top Rank likely used the Haymon suit to find out information for their own deal, but the matchups that Top Rank has put forward, generally speaking, hint at ESPN getting all of Top Rank and access to the Top Rank library for cheap. Eddie Hearn has done a great job in the UK and for their boxing scene, and even his major deal is on a streaming platform that most folks hadn't even heard of until today.I dig Haymon. I think he's a godsend damn near for the post-boxing career of a ton of boxers he deals with without even getting into how he's helped them in maximizing their money as a pro boxer BUT why is everyone getting a tv/streaming deal EXCEPT Haymon lol.
Arum basically sues Haymon, sees his docs & within 6 or so months has a deal with ESPN thats pretty solid.
Hearn, assuming this news is true, is lined up with a streaming platform, the future of the industry & entertainment viewing, after 2 or 3 shows Haymon would be embarrassed putting on & its not like Haymon promoters ain't put on some sh^tshows.
Why can't Haymon get a deal now? Are we even sure thats what Haymon wants anymore? I've been saying it for years I think at this point, but I don't know why they wouldn't pivot to a new plan upon all the issues they ran into & all the money they seemingly spewed if those details are true. What has Haymon shown with his actions he's still shopping for a TV deal?
And sh^t maybe he is, I just don't understand how he don't got one already if he does want one & if he keeps letting PBC guys sign with promoters as has been happening & as Hearn & the UFC is likely to prove is happening more & more this year what is the plan with a lowering quality of PBC guys?
Rushing into a bad deal doesn't seem like something Haymon will do.
Just going off inferences, I'm still of the belief that we end up with a PBC deal on one broadcaster (most likely FOX/FS1 at this point) that generally used to build stars that can be leveraged onto Showtime/CBS and possibly PPV if warranted.
4-6 shows on FOX, 20-25 shows on FS1, and the development of FOX/FS1 shoulder programming, for $100m-$150m per year (with the relationship growing over time).
That's my current guess, tbh.Comment

I pay, last I checked comes out to like 300 a month.
I just cant be bothered to try and find a good stream for xyz.
and I do have private hookups with 1080i HD acestreams etc but still I only use those as a backup jsut incase.
I like I can just sign on to, showtime, espn, or whatever and watch what I want to watch IN HD no bandwidth issue, quality issue etc.Comment

If he's not with a streaming platform idk if he's looking at the long game. And one thing I do question with Haymon is ability to understand & steer things to a superior technology/product since his ass don't even own a smartphone from reports.
Agree with the first part. Idk about the cheap stuff doe. I think Arum is doing better now then when he was hanging out with HBO. And I do feel like when ESPN makes a legit play for the TR library, and I feeel like they will, thats where the money will be for TR.Top Rank likely used the Haymon suit to find out information for their own deal, but the matchups that Top Rank has put forward, generally speaking, hint at ESPN getting all of Top Rank and access to the Top Rank library for cheap.
Agree with all of this.Eddie Hearn has done a great job in the UK and for their boxing scene, and even his major deal is on a streaming platform that most folks hadn't even heard of until today.
Okay, but since when does it take so long to show proof of concept or 3 years to show you got a money making idea? Are we sure the PBC concept flies? Are we sure the PBC model is profitable?Rushing into a bad deal doesn't seem like something Haymon will do.
Idk man. I think at some point you are behind the 8 ball if you don't make a deal. And when more & more people are getting TV deals logically I think you have less of a chance of getting one cuz there is only gonna be so much boxing on TV. You wanna be the player created the cycle not the person following the cycle.Just going off inferences, I'm still of the belief that we end up with a PBC deal on one broadcaster (most likely FOX/FS1 at this point) that generally used to build stars that can be leveraged onto Showtime/CBS and possibly PPV if warranted.

I don't think that the talent raid, by the UFC or Matchroom Sport USA, is going to be anywhere near as drastic as you might think (especially with basically all of the names that you mentioned already being feature players on Showtime).
The details are still sketch, but it took an alleged 3 guaranteed fights +options deal (and the chance to fight Golovkin/Canelo/Saunders) to get Daniel Jacobs to sign a deal with HBO (order of operations still isn't clear, whether the HBO deal or the Hearn deal was settled first).
Khan, Frampton, Degale, and Selby all weighed out their own deals, tbh, but it's going to take some kind of deal to tie down any fighter with Haymon, nevermind a group of them, nevermind fighters who have become/starting to become attractions.
In terms of the general future, I see PBC becoming the home for the top American amateur talent (regardless of who they fought for), in a similar way to how Sky Sports/Matchroom has become the defacto home of the top British/UK amateur talent.
Haymon basically scooped up the whole 2012 US Olympic team, is affiliated with basically the whole 2016 US Olympic team (sans Mayer and Antonio Vargas from what I can tell), and will likely get most of the 2020 US Olympic team.
With the talent in the pool, you match the fighters in solid fights (not every fight is going to be even, but keep things competitive), and let the chips fall where they may; winners move on to the next bigger opportunity, with the losses in good fights resulting in lateral steps.Comment
