So all Whyte has to do is beat the old bum Ortiz and he is mando. Shouldn't the UK fans be thrilled at this news. Then again, if Ortiz wins, they have to eat crow on all that Wilder is ducking Whyte talk. Awesome! Either way, we get a good scrap.
How does Ortiz beating Whyte prove that Wilder wasn't ducking? How does that even work? Haha.
For what? Wilder has been wanting the fight for years. It is just now, that AJ's side as shown any interest at all. AJ himself said Miller or Whyte rematch is probably next.
If Wilder gets a fair offer and refuses, I will be the very first to criticize him. If Hearn comes with $12.5 million, no purse split, no negotiation then I will continue to blame the one who keeps talking about fighting everyone not named Wilder. Also, if a fair offer is made, I will be the first to compliment both Hearn and AJ.
It's not until recently that Wilder wanted a 50/50 split of the money. So how in the hell could AJ have ducked the fight? Unless you think that nobody deserved half of the money?

Is 12.5 million not a great offer? Additionally, Wilders hardly in the best position to negotiate as he brings just the one trinket to the table. He’ll take the preordained Bum Squad route & fight Brezeale for 2 million.
This grows a spanner in the works of true. Hearn will definitely prefer this to Pulev as lines up Whyte against Wilder, but puts another good fight on before it. After the Ortiz Wilder fight his is far more marketable.
It also puts Wilder in a rocky place if he doesn't take the money on offer from Joshua now. He doesn't want to rematch Ortiz after being rocked and many saying he was behind, equally he has already turned down more than double his biggest payday to fight Whyte.
This may force him to accept an offer against Joshua , or if he doesn't , only will build profile up more for bigger $ fight with Joshua following.
Forget the wilder position for a minute though. This would be a cracking matchup in its own right.
Good fight, very interesting, but I think this actually works in Wilders favour.
He'll fight Breazeale and KO him then has 1 year to fight Ortiz Whyte winner, in the mean time it puts WAY more pressure on Hear and Joshua to make the fight as there is no more Whyte v Wilder bs to distract the public away from Joshua Wilder.
It's also very very nice to see Hearns plans backfire. The arrogant twat needs to be taken down a few pegs. Bet he dodges Ortiz for Whyte as well.
