Which B sides have made deals in the past with big A sides anyway? I can't think of one off the top of my head.
B sides make offers often. It just depends on who controls the money, in this case Joshua has the backing of PPV and the biggest promoter in the world.

It is interesting that people are having difficulty over standerds of what a fighter is worth. Its an interesting question really. Everyone seems to want to know how many gold bars a Deontay is worth versus a Joshua....so to speak.

This problem comes up regarding the value if a CEO to a company? they don't make the product, they do not market it, and really they don't analyze the situation as much as people think. They delegate and take the fall, or the success and represent the brand. Yet CEO's are paid millions... How is that worth understood though?

Looking at value in boxing is like a company on steriods... What if Joshua stubs his toe? Seriously!! Im not joking in the slightest. What if a fighter loses a fight they should not? etc etc. Fighters are easily damaged goods and their value is fleeting.

One impportant part of the value of a fight, is the probability of a succesful event. In this respect team Deontay has a good point: Right now if this fight is made, it is potentially the most valuable fight for Joshua. Joshua has great chances to win, there is potentially a lucrative rematch, etc. This fight is definitely valuable to Joshua, especially with the belts being unified.

Then we have economic production: Joshua does indeed draw many fans to the ring and his value translates as this ability to draw fans to an event. It also allows him to fight others and take less risk than fighting Deontay. This has to be considered.

The location for the fight is also a plus for Joshua, and team Wilder wants this perhaps accepted as a reason to make a more generous offer. But team Joshua does not accept that wilder is in a position to offer an alternative that will draw so many to the fight, therefore to team Joshua it is inevitable that the fight should occur where the fans will go, and this is not a point of negotiation.

Unifying the belts can be seen as a reason for the value Wilder claims to bring to the table... But Wilder has to also understand that fighting him entails considerable risk. Even though this is a winnable fight for Joshua, Wilder is not a belt holder who is like Martin for example...easy pickins.

When it comes down to it the only way to determine each man's value is to analyze these points, otherwise people are just talking past each other.

The original offer given is enough to work with. It can be countered, embellished, etc. If I were Wilder I would counter with a percentage, a rematch clause and try to make it seem that my biggest concern would be asking for more millions up front.

I imagine almost all of the actual negotiation happens behind close doors and all the hooplah they say is to grab press headlines and to get the fans riled up and eager for the fight to be announced.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if they've already agreed in principle to the terms for this fight.

It probably has been sent by now, we will hear about it when it gets made. About the flat fee: Hearn is the one that talked about 100million, in this context offering 12.5 million is just disrespectful. No one really knows how much this fight will make, that's why this should be talked at %

Fans never even heard anything about the Klitschko/Joshua negotiations. It just happened.

Hearn is clearly irked in this video about the talk of the fight being worth $100 million. It clearly came from the other side. It may be Schaefer.

the same will happen to AJ and hearn

wilder can laugh at that flat fee...go knock out d breezy or that polish kid.....and watch the public pressure mount on the canelo of this situation which is AJ
Golden Boy had no choice but to negotiate a fair deal with Golovkin?

Can you tell me what that fair deal was?

                Thanks.

If you think AJ should make over 4 times as much as Wilder then that is fair. I think Wilder should make at least half of what AJ makes and probably more than that. Since nobody knows what the monster fight will make flat fees should be out. They should make a percentage split of the profits available to pay the boxers. I think a split of somewhere between 60/40 and 65/35 in AJ's favor would be fair but clearly AJ doesn't think so and wants an 80/20 split in his favor.
You think Wilder should make half as much as Joshua even though AJ bring 95% of the revenue to the table?

Anyway, 12.5 Mill IS actually half of what AJ will make for the fight but Wilder is turning it down.

Joshua fans, quick question. Why should Wilder take a flat fee when you said, and even voted in polls that Manny AND GG shouldn’t take “flat fees”? I’ll be back later.
