Talking of what the fight could generate,i'm not sure. . I got carried away with the hype and said that this fight could generate $100m as suggested by some but went to bed and woke sober.
If Wilder had have promoted himself better as he should have with a 40-0 (39 ko's) record then it would no doubt do the figures we know A.J. can pull his weight but the truth is Wilder struggles to get noticed at his local supermarket.
If Tyson comes back with good wins and A.J. is unbeaten then that does those figures until then Wilder should see this as his golden opportunity but instead seems to be reading all the worthless hype for him on places like this and will probably carry on earning fractions of the amount offered and just keep shouting bomb-squad instead of answering ......why!Comment

Wouldn't this all be solved by negotiating a purse split as opposed to a flat fee? That way, no matter if the fight exceeds or falls short of projections, both sides get what they deserve for a fight of this magnitude.Comment

Can't read into the negotiations as a fan, have to be unbiased and take emotion out of it...... Parker recieved a 35% cut - I think he ended up making like 25 - 32 million for his fight... If you guys do not think this is a $100 million fight then you do not know the history of the Heavyweight division! Wilder is worth far more that Parker and far more than
12 .5% of the pot... This is a undisputed Heavyweight boxing match for all of the BELTS.... The soccer stadium will be sold out and atleast 1mil buys on ppv... Undisputed Heavyweight Championship that's your selling point...Comment

Yes, % split is almost certainly the best solution, however that will still be preceded by numerous negotiating statements and positions justifiying why one fighter or the other is/isn't worth a certain %!Comment

I think many outside of the U.S underestimate his ability to draw. Especially since the Ortiz fight. At the end of the day, in boxing, the right match up will outsell the individual every time. A lot more people will tune in to see the American vs the Brit or simply to see if Wilder can become undisputed.Comment

Parker received approximately 1/3rd which was sort of fair as he had one title (WBO) and Joshua had two (IBF, WBA). On that basis should Wilder settle for 25% as he has one title (WBC) but Joshua now has three (IBF, WBA, WBO)?!
(p.s. please let's not include the absolutely worthless IBO!)Comment

Finkel and Wilder claim they've wanted the fight for 2 years...yet when asked about a potential for a counter offer it is "we're working on it"....what were you idiots doing for 2 years?
AJ needs to keep fighting and get serious opponents in the ring. Povetkin, Pulev and Fury are all BIG money fights. Wilder can fight...erm...A mcdonalds worker who isnt busy one weekend.Comment

More UK fans will tune in to see Joshua based on him fighting Wilder. More U.S. fans will tune in to see Wilder based on him fighting Joshua.
The fight time may impact viewership but I trust the lead promoter (likely Hearn) to find a time that will maximize it.Comment

Precisely. And a multitude of NSB wars as "fans" go to war to prove the other guy ducked.Comment
