I'm not sure you're understanding AJ's point. He's simply calling their bluff and forcing them to admit it's not actually a $100 mill fight, throwing that 12.5% claim out the window. Now the further away it is from $100 mill in the down direction, the higher 12.5 mill is as a percentage and the less ridiculous it is. He'll take 50% of $100 mill but not 50% of a much lower purse like 30 mill. And according to the interview, he believes the actual pot between the fighters only, not promoters, not the arena, not ppv percentages but just those two, could be 4x lower than 100 mill. On the other hand, it's looking like Wilder's team doesn't want a realistic percentage like 33% percent of whatever the pot ends up being, hence the flat fee offer. Like a previous poster mentioned, how big would AJ vs Ortiz have been compared to Wilder Ortiz? As AJ said, he's not a charity. To give Wilder significantly more of the purse is just giving away his own earnings and any metric of earning potential between the two will show that. Wilder claims he wants the fight but actually he just wants the money. Now Wilder did say whatever he takes now can be reversed in the rematch which opens negotiations. But like AJ said, instead simply responding with a counter offer like businessmen, they went to social media like amateurs. He says they're creating a counter offer. That's ridiculous, they should have had a counter offer within like 30 mins if they were serious. That's why AJ calls them clowns. They don't act professional or serious.Comment

Joshua is the biggest ***** in boxing. He wanted the fight at home, check. He says he’s the A side, check, and then comes up with two more road blocks. Just say that you’re scared or that you don’t like when Wilder attack’s you on social media. Straight *****..Comment

Just goes to show you my earlier assertion that Wilder and his fans are dumbasses. AJ and his peeps are business people. Wilder will be the next Shannon Briggs and blame whitey and AJ. LOL!Comment

It's funny how the educated people on this thread get what AJ has done, yet Wilder, his team and his ignorant fans see it as AJ ducking. As I said yesterday, Wilder is the biggest dumbass in boxing next to Broner and his fans aren't far behind.Comment

What the fight is actually worth is merely a guess by both sides which they are manipulating to fit their position/demands. At this stage neither are being realistic imho.
However, Wilder is prepared to go to UK for the fight; Joshua has indicated the fight must be in the UK. Wilder should be credited with giving up "home advantage" to get this fight and must surely deserve at least somewhere near the same split as Parker got?Comment
