Then he should be willing to accept chump change. He's not because he is under no pressure to accept chump change. He's got a guaranteed shot eventually. He can keep busy fighting the Dashon Johnson's of the world until he gets his fight with GGG or the IBF strips GGG and has Sergei D take on the next highest ranked fighter for the vacant belt.
well they know how much hbo is offering and despite that lou is demanding the fight... am i missing something??.
why wouldnt they be able to negotiate a 60-40 split?
ggg just made huge money vs canelo and he will make similar in september, he should be able to offer a fair pct...

      1) a shortcut to the top, Andrade offered nothing
      2) 3x world titles
      3) guaranteed multi-million dollar paydays from here on in
      4) pride, because that win would catapult him to the top of the sport

how the fk would you know what a grown man would, or should, accept?

stop making stuff up, and stop making ridiculous excuses

shouldn't you be telling us how much Vanes would happily accept?

lets face it, Golovkin is a pacifist..... he appears completely disinterested

We can't hold GGG to standards different from everyone else. Andre Ward could have taken on Adonis Stevenson or Tony Bellew but chose not to because they didn't offer enough money.

According to Ward's head trainer, Virgil Hunter,
"Well, Stevenson can only fight in Canada and there was really no money in that fight. Nobody put up the money for that fight, and once you make a certain amount of money, it’s only right that you continue to stay on that pay scale. Stevenson was not going to bring in that kind of money to the table because he only fights in Canada,"

There was also the possibility of heading up to cruiserweight for a fight with Tony Bellew. Hunter says the contest with Bellew, and moving up to cruiserweight in general, brought more risk than it did reward.

"Moving up to cruiserweight and things, that was a negotiation situation that takes time and you don’t even know if it’s going to materialize. That’s what was open to us, either the move up in weight and fight somebody that could bring money to the table, or fight for less money. It was a good time to consider retirement since it was on the books anyways, so that’s what we did," Hunter said.

Two weeks ago, IBF, WBA, WBO light heavyweight champion Andre Ward (32-0, 16 KOs), 32 years old, caught everyone by surprise when he announced his retirement from the sport. Ward, a unified champion at super middleweight, officially made his move to the light heavyweight division in early 2016. He only had four bouts at the weight, but in those four he dominated highly regarded contender Sullivan Barrera and picked up back to back wins over former division ruler Sergey Kovalev.

Floyd Mayweather wouldn't even get out of bed to read a contract that guaranteed him less than 30 million for a fight let alone sign it. Yet people say GGG should take less money to make the fight with Sergei D happen because he could afford to take less? Come on. Just because you are a boxing fan and not a banker it doesn't mean you should ignore the business side of things and how they affect decisions. A 60/40 split of 10 million dollars leaves both sides making a good amount of money. A 60/40 split of 1 million leaves GGG making only 200k more than a man with 13 fights on his resume with two of those fights coming against guys who had a .500 record or worse.

Because as a mandatory opponent he is under no pressure to accept chump change. He can wait for his shot and get more.

he is not gonna " wait " for Hypekin

maybe you fans are dumb as dogshht, but most of the fighters know exactly whats up..... he is well-aware that Golovkin wants nothing to do with him, and could retire/lose before he gets his shot

Derevyanchenko knows that if he does not force his shot now, Golovkin will probably lose his titles to Canelo..... and Canelo will do whatever he wants

you are being utterly ridiculous for attempting to put words into Derevyanchenko - or anyone else's - mouth..... especially when Derev/Dibella already stated that they will not take step-aside money

              excuse

why is it sooooo important to you that Golovkin fights an absolute scrub?

No he's not nor should he. He's the mandatory opponent and the defense is due. He should certainly force the issue as is his right and that is what his team is doing. Hopefully the IBF will make a decision soon.

Derevyanchenko knows that if he does not force his shot now, Golovkin will probably lose his titles to Canelo..... and Canelo will do whatever he wants
If Canelo wins the belts he'll be in the same position as GGG. But unlike GGG Canelo seems more than happy to give up the belt if he's going to be forced to fight someone he doesn't want to fight. So one way or another Derevyanchenko will get his shot.

you are being utterly ridiculous for attempting to put words into Derevyanchenko - or anyone else's - mouth..... especially when Derev/Dibella already stated that they will not take step-aside money
No one is putting words into their mouths. They already said they turned down 250k to fight Andrade because the previous offer had been for 400k. The only ones putting words into their mouths are the people who assume he would be willing to take less money than the 400k he wanted for Andrade to fight GGG on short notice. You are assuming he would because it could lead to bigger opportunities. I am assuming he won't because he's already shown that money matters to him and as the mandatory he is under no obligation to settle for chump change to get the fight. Just like GGG didn't have to cut below 160 to fight Canelo when he was Canelo's mandatory Sergei D doesn't have to settle for chump change.

why is it sooooo important to you that Golovkin fights an absolute scrub?
Well I want him to stay sharp and I don't want him to be inactive before the Canelo rematch. I would prefer an opponent like Sergei D. instead of Vanes because he's the better opponent and a mandatory defense that needs to happen sooner or later. But I understand why its not him now.

bullshht, they could have fought Saunders in June

they could have selected Derev weeks ago, which would give them plenty of time to promote the fight

what you are saying is, that Golovkin could not sell a ticket if they were free

their problem is, as soon as they had a chance, they ran around selecting scrubs.... then they cancelled the venue, before they even selected an opponent.....

maybe HBO got sick of carrying them, but hard luck for them..... Golovkin just made 15mil and he will make another 15mil in September

btw kid, how will they have money to pay Vanes once they flick Derev his step-aside fee?
