Weeks ago when Canelo the coward knew he would get the maximum sentence for his drug abuse? Not that he would have been able to fight anyway, with his knee surgery.bullshht, they could have fought Saunders in June
they could have selected Derev weeks ago, which would give them plenty of time to promote the fight
what you are saying is, that Golovkin could not sell a ticket if they were free
their problem is, as soon as they had a chance, they ran around selecting scrubs.... then they cancelled the venue, before they even selected an opponent.....
maybe HBO got sick of carrying them, but hard luck for them..... Golovkin just made 15mil and he will make another 15mil in September
btw kid, how will they have money to pay Vanes once they flick Derev his step-aside fee?

there is nothing wrong in boxers making business decisions, but just remember ggg is the guy that accused canelo of being a businessman... he choosed to held him self to different stardads... i think thats why he gets critisized more than the rest on situations like this... if you admitt that ggg is not fighting his mando cuz he made a business decision then fine, no need to debate anything...We can't hold GGG to standards different from everyone else. Andre Ward could have taken on Adonis Stevenson or Tony Bellew but chose not to because they didn't offer enough money.
Two weeks ago, IBF, WBA, WBO light heavyweight champion Andre Ward (32-0, 16 KOs), 32 years old, caught everyone by surprise when he announced his retirement from the sport. Ward, a unified champion at super middleweight, officially made his move to the light heavyweight division in early 2016. He only had four bouts at the weight, but in those four he dominated highly regarded contender Sullivan Barrera and picked up back to back wins over former division ruler Sergey Kovalev.
Floyd Mayweather wouldn't even get out of bed to read a contract that guaranteed him less than 30 million for a fight let alone sign it. Yet people say GGG should take less money to make the fight with Sergei D happen because he could afford to take less? Come on. Just because you are a boxing fan and not a banker it doesn't mean you should ignore the business side of things and how they affect decisions. A 60/40 split of 10 million dollars leaves both sides making a good amount of money. A 60/40 split of 1 million leaves GGG making only 200k more than a man with 13 fights on his resume with two of those fights coming against guys who had a .500 record or worse.Comment

That's assuming Sergei D would have taken 400k. I don't think he would have. That's what he was offered to fight Andrade and the fight with GGG is bigger and a lot more meaningful. Even if he was willing to do so it still not fair. There is a difference between "not being a businessman" and a fight where the man with almost 40 fights and who holds 3 championship belts only earns 200k more than a man with 13 fights.there is nothing wrong in boxers making business decisions, but just remember ggg is the guy that accused canelo of being a businessman... he choosed to held him self to different stardads... i think thats why he gets critisized more than the rest on situations like this... if you admitt that ggg is not fighting his mando cuz he made a business decision then fine, no need to debate anything...Last edited by yankees7448; 04-16-2018, 04:26 PM.Comment

If he was a businessman he wouldn't have said anything about Canelo using PEDs. As far as his fight goes with whoever there is only so much money available and very little time to negotiate. I don't like the opponents but let's be realistic.there is nothing wrong in boxers making business decisions, but just remember ggg is the guy that accused canelo of being a businessman... he choosed to held him self to different stardads... i think thats why he gets critisized more than the rest on situations like this... if you admitt that ggg is not fighting his mando cuz he made a business decision then fine, no need to debate anything...Comment

you excuse-making muppets need to get your story straight
look what just happened with Gassiev.....
Sanchez Sends Gassiev Home After Postponement of Usyk Bout
It was announced earlier today by the World Boxing Super Series that Oleksander Usyk has a ''minor elbow injury'' that would prevent him from facing Murat Gassiev in the finals of their cruiserweight tournament which was scheduled for May 11th.
like I told you clowns..... that is EXACTLY what they could have done with Golovkin if he had selected Saunders in June
give him a 7-10 day break, even 14 days, to avoid over-training..... on FULL diet, light road-work only, purely maintenance..... while they arrange some lefties..... and then slide Golovkin back into the groove with up to a 7 or even 8-week camp should they deem it necessary
they had plenty of time, that is standard stuff..... and they had a willing opponent
that fight COULD have happened, but it did not..... AGAIN
your boy has been writing cheques with his mouth that he cannot cash with his fists
