If Golovkin retired today, would he be a HOFer?

No to be honest. He got HOF talent but he honestly lacks 1 or 2 top tier wins. He should have moved up or down in weight (probably up given his physique) when the divisions were hot. Hagler never moved either but the MW divison back in his day had legacy-building quality.Comment

Whitaker has been in legendary fights and is a 4 division champ.
Who cares, Jones was already a 3 weight champion with victories against 2 hofers by the time he was 36. Most of these guys have cemented their legacies way before this age. He's 36 and at the top of the game. It just shows how skillful and technical he is that at his age he can still outbox and outjab a guy 10 years younger. Not sure I know of too many fighters than can do that. At 36 you loses most of your reflexes and speed. Hopkins was one. Roy jones jr was getting koed cold by journey man at 36. Where was hagler and leonard at 36?
This isn't even a questions of skills either, it's about whether Golovkin's career is HOF worthy. And when you look coldly at his spreadsheet, I don't think it is.
And he did not outbox Canelo. Outjabbed, yes, but I don't call plodding for 12 rounds straight missing nearly 70% of your power shots "outboxing".Comment

If he beats Canelo convincingly in the rematch then yes if not then NO, he’s had no signature win.Comment

No, Jacobs didn't win. He got outclassed, only idiotic blind GGG-haters like you believe Jacobs won.
So it's just about having fans? And how do you measure fans?Comment
