So Canelo failed two tests. The first sample showed 600-800 pg of clenbuterol, and the second 60-80 pg.
1. WADA stated that to produce 50 pg in urine, it would have been necessary to have eaten meat which had been killed very soon after the last dosing of the animal with Clenbuterol. http://www.velonation.com/News/ID/7355/Contador-positive-for-Clenbuterol-in-four-different-tests.aspx
2. When the drug was orally administered repeatedly to men twice a day, the plasma level reached the plateau within 4 d after the initial administration. At that time, the plasma levels of the unchanged form were 200 to 300 pg/ml and 500 to 600 pg/ml at doses of 20 and 40 micrograms/man, respectively. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/4045696/
Again, the first sample showed 600-800 pg of clenbuterol. This is hardly a very small amount if medication produces that level and less. The second failed test a couple days later possibly shows a trace amount of that last dosage.
So far every drug expert has stated that the amounts were extremely low and consistent with levels seen from meat contamination case studies. Look what Memo had to say
The contamination of Saul Alvarez was due to consume meat, said Angel Guillermo Heredia.
The physical trainer analyzed on his own the concentrations of clenbuterol that the "Canelo" threw in the voluntary tests carried out by the VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association) on February 17 and 20 in Jalisco.
The result for the Guadalajara man was 0.6 to 0.8 nanograms per milliliter in the first, and 0.06 to 0.08 in the second.
"When doing a mathematical calculation, taking into account what is the half-life of clenbuterol, which is 36 hours, depends on the human being, the activity of the athlete or metabolism of the person, taking those factors, I made an exponential equation and I It gives me an accuracy of 99 percent that amount (of the 'Canelo') is according to consumption of contaminated meat.
"In my opinion, neutral, and as a scientist and with morals, as a professional, with all the experience I have, it is practically due to contamination, since the levels of 'Canelo' are too low, what happens is that there are many problems of clenbuterol in Mexico, "Heredia added.
"There are cases above 20 or 25, or up to 40 nanograms per milliliter, and they are clearly taking that substance as doping, and one point is that the tests were in Mexico, 'Canelo' ate that meat in Mexico."
If today I took a pill, the minimum dose of clenbuterol, which is 0.02 milligrams, means that when I take that pill I will have an amount of 20 ng / ml in the urine, and after 36 hours I will have 10 ng / ml, and after another 36 hours I will have 5 thousand.
Then, the "Canelo" had less than 1 ng / ml, and even lower 3 days later, so it goes according to what is metabolism of clenbuterol, it is nothing, and 'Canelo' for me is clean.Comment

Extremely little and every expert and drug testing agency states less then 1ng is what you see from meat contamination. Canelo had 0.6-0.8 and then 0.06-0.08.
The concentration of Clenbuterol in Alvarez’s body was low, and that is significant, Conte said.
“When they say trace amounts, it’s way down in the parts per trillion,” Conte said. “You have parts per million, parts per billion and then parts per trillion. You have trace and then this would be called ultra-trace concentrations. So do I think this is likely it came from a contaminated meat source? I do.”

Told by two officials that VADA tested @Canelo twice more on March 3 and 5 in Mexico and both results are preliminarily negative for clenbuterol or any banned substance.

Directly from WADA website
“We acknowledge that the clenbuterol meat contamination issue is unsatisfactory,” said Olivier Niggli, Director General, WADA. “Accordingly, since 2011, the Agency has carried out several research studies aimed at providing analytical means to distinguish ingestion of clenbuterol by pharmacological origin versus that of meat contamination,” he continued. “We will continue to invest in scientific research to try to solve this issue as quickly as possible,” Niggli continued. “However, in the meantime, we maintain that disciplinary proceedings against athletes with low level urinary concentrations, from countries known for significant risk of exposure, would have little to no prospect of success; and, would be very unfair to the athletes concerned.”

Also from the link.
"All of the values were below 1ng/ml and therefore in the range of potential meat contamination cases."
Canelo's results were between 0.6-0.8 and 0.06-0.08. And he's from a country where meat contamination exists. Canelo traces were extremely low and in line with values they have identified for meat contaminated cases. So why would he be banned when there are examples of this exact situation in boxing and the fighters weren't banned and in other sports such as the NFL that just went through with this and the NFL for the same reason didn't suspend the player.

In 2016, former Houston Texans left tackle Duane Brown tested positive for clenbuterol. Brown, who now plays for the Seattle Seahawks, was not disciplined, and the drug program's independent administrator sent a letter warning players that consumption of too much meat in Mexico and China could cause a positive test for the anabolic substance.Comment

“Everything points to contamination” ... What points to contamination??????????????
what the f he is talking about, did they do hair test?
these scums are ruining boxing..Comment

If Canelo is a cheater then how come his hair is still red? EXACTLY!!!!
Bunch of idiots on here. I'm pretty sure I read this one time that your hair goes darker if you take drugs, and yet he has BRIGHT ORNAGE / RED HAIR!!!! HAHA! So stick that up your lying, hating asses!
If you had the slightest bit of knowledge about drugs you'd know the effects they have on the human body / hair.Comment
