Anyone notice how even before there was an investigation the ranking bodies who were worried about their sanctioning fees were holding news conferences declaring Canelo innocent! What a completely crooked system! You fail but you don't fail. Why even check for a drug level if by what we're hearing now means nothing.
VADA did their job .. they tested Canelo and they flagged him when a test came up positive.

What happens after that is out of VADA's hands.

of course he's had negative test since. he just got popped! he'll be a fool to get pop again. that doesnt mean he's innocent.

he already got popped for cheating, so he's off the juice already.

everyone who isn't Mexican believes that Canelo is more than likely a cheater. He used peds after he fought ggg in Sept, didn't expect to get tested in February and got busted.

            Directly from WADA website

“We acknowledge that the clenbuterol meat contamination issue is unsatisfactory,” said Olivier Niggli, Director General, WADA. “Accordingly, since 2011, the Agency has carried out several research studies aimed at providing analytical means to distinguish ingestion of clenbuterol by pharmacological origin versus that of meat contamination,” he continued. “We will continue to invest in scientific research to try to solve this issue as quickly as possible,” Niggli continued. “However, in the meantime, we maintain that disciplinary proceedings against athletes with low level urinary concentrations, from countries known for significant risk of exposure, would have little to no prospect of success; and, would be very unfair to the athletes concerned.

            Also from the link.

"All of the values were below 1ng/ml and therefore in the range of potential meat contamination cases."

Canelo's results were between 0.6-0.8 and 0.06-0.08. And he's from a country where meat contamination exists. Canelo traces were extremely low and in line with values they have identified for meat contaminated cases. So why would he be banned when there are examples of this exact situation in boxing and the fighters weren't banned and in other sports such as the NFL that just went through with this and the NFL for the same reason didn't suspend the player.

In 2016, former Houston Texans left tackle Duane Brown tested positive for clenbuterol. Brown, who now plays for the Seattle Seahawks, was not disciplined, and the drug program's independent administrator sent a letter warning players that consumption of too much meat in Mexico and China could cause a positive test for the anabolic substance.

I advise everyone to keep countering these "statements" on forums, social media and any other platforms so the WBC cannot sweep this away. Corruption in boxing is right in front of us. Something has to be done.
Absolutely. The WADA stance on Mexican athletes who test positive for clen is that they should not be charged with deliberate abuse because of the possibilty of accidental contamination from tainted beef.

That does not mean that they are automatically innocent, just that they shouldn't be charged because the case can't be proved.

THe WBC are trying to pull the wool over people's eyes here.

Alexander Headvetkin said he only has trace amounts of Meldonium in his system and his fans accused Wilder of running for the hills. So why is Canelo guilty as ****, and that GG should cancel the fight? I’m just asking for a friend.

Extremely little and every expert and drug testing agency states less then 1ng is what you see from meat contamination. Canelo had 0.6-0.8ng and then 0.06-0.08ng.

The concentration of Clenbuterol in Alvarez’s body was low, and that is significant, Conte said.

“When they say trace amounts, it’s way down in the parts per trillion,” Conte said. “You have parts per million, parts per billion and then parts per trillion. You have trace and then this would be called ultra-trace concentrations. So do I think this is likely it came from a contaminated meat source? I do.

Enough to get him banned automatically if he lived anywhere except Mexico. 10 times more than the cyclist Alberto Contador had, and he was banned for 2 years.
