It's hard to feel bad for somebody who got paid 100k for less than 1 hour of work and lost the fight. Just saying, I mean how much more does he think he's worth 500k? If you can fill stadiums or carry an ppv by all means go independent. In Japan those midgets make bank.
Silly, ignorant comment. He trained for MONTHS for that one payday, and any single moment in the ring could end violently and be a career end. If the guy can get 500K or 1 million dollars (insert best Dr. Evil voice here) go get it, Mr. Estrada. More power to you.Comment

Unlikely to change. The card did pretty poor numbers peaking at 700k. HBO could put any program on and get those numbers.Comment

Gotta agree with Estrada
I’m amazed how little Cuadras got( especially if he has bonus or TV $ coming his way )
Even when you know the little guys get paid a fraction of the bigger guys . It seemed like all the fighters got jipped
7500 at the gate
HBO lisence tee
Plus probably a sh.it load of countries buying the rights
Seems Tom Loeffler and 360 promotions could have broke off a little more to the fightersComment

No point in anything I am dropping here, just some quick numbers:
-Only recent fight on HBO to get 1 million views was the Cotto farewell fight against Sadam Ali: Cotto got 2 million, Ali 700,00.
-Spence-Peterson peaked at 700, 000 viewers on Showtime: Spence got 1.2 mil, Peterson 600,000.
-The last Crawford fight on HBO before he went to ESPN was the Felix Diaz fight which pulled in 961,000 - I am having a hard time finding actual purse numbers, but I know Crawford received over a mill for that fight and Diaz got about 200,000. Please feel free to correct me if someone knows the actual numbers.
-Kovalev-Shabranskyy drew 870,000 eyeballs, with Kovalev bringing in a hair less than 1.1 mil and Shabranskyy getting a career high 150,000 (another fight I am having trouble finding hard numbers for, this was from an article just before the fight aired).
Now, compare those to the 640,000 viewership of Son Rungvisai and Estrada main event, with 250,000 and 100,000 dollar purses respectively, and you can judge for yourself if they were underpaid.Comment

STEVE KIM said that the disclosed purses were a lot more!STEVE KIM works 4 TOM LAFLOUR at 360 promotions which is bull crap cuz STEVE KIM is a reporter that is putting out propaganda.Look at STEVE KIM'S twitter page last week advertising Superfly, and everywhere Steve Kim went he pumped that card. With the bitter taste of not having been able to go out with the championship last Saturday in California against Srisaket Sr Rungvisai, former world champion Juan Francisco 'Gallo' Estrada has asked the organizers of Superfly to provide better salaries for the smaller weight fighters. Estrada, along with Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez, have long been advocates for smaller weight fighters to get paid more money.

You get paid what you earn. If you want more money, eat some food and fight in a higher weight classComment

I see it more as other fighters getting overpaid. HBO could put almost anything in that time slot and get 650k viewers. Why would they pay millions for boxing? No point in anything I am dropping here, just some quick numbers:
