What were the purses?

Idk if any of that matters reallllllly but respect on digging up the stats. No point in anything I am dropping here, just some quick numbers:
-Only recent fight on HBO to get 1 million views was the Cotto farewell fight against Sadam Ali: Cotto got 2 million, Ali 700,00.
-Spence-Peterson peaked at 700, 000 viewers on Showtime: Spence got 1.2 mil, Peterson 600,000.
-The last Crawford fight on HBO before he went to ESPN was the Felix Diaz fight which pulled in 961,000 - I am having a hard time finding actual purse numbers, but I know Crawford received over a mill for that fight and Diaz got about 200,000. Please feel free to correct me if someone knows the actual numbers.
-Kovalev-Shabranskyy drew 870,000 eyeballs, with Kovalev bringing in a hair less than 1.1 mil and Shabranskyy getting a career high 150,000 (another fight I am having trouble finding hard numbers for, this was from an article just before the fight aired).
Now, compare those to the 640,000 viewership of Son Rungvisai and Estrada main event, with 250,000 and 100,000 dollar purses respectively, and you can judge for yourself if they were underpaid.
To me HBO is into lil guys cuz they cost less so they pay lesser right fees to show their fights. Promoters can put on HBO caliber shows for cheaper so they are okay with lower rights money cuz they got less purses to pay. So its not like the promoter is walking away with more money there. If the choice was about paying the lil guys $1M+ then HBO just wouldn't put those cards on cuz the rights fees would be too much. HBO isn't selling advertising so ratings don't mean all that much for any specific card like it does on non-premium channels with ads.
The real question is gate. Is a SuperFly card doing more, equal or less gate then some of those fights where guys are making $1M+? So is the promoter walking away with a lot more money from the gate cuz he's underpaying from that side of the equation then he usually would be? Thats the more interesting financial math I feel like.Comment

Smaller fighters do indeed attract less interest, but it looked like the crowd was pretty good that night, with no higher weight main event to claim it wa the draw.
These guys don't draw enough interest to warrant millions or anything, but 30, 40k? That's nontelevised-level money.Comment

Man, GTFOH with that bull**** logic. That's not my fault, and I don't care. He chose he's career path. Let's see him go to the Zimbabwe or Estonia and see how much they pay their pro athletes. America pays him 100k but an teacher 30k? Kinda crazy either way he's not poor. I will show him poor. I got some ppl around my way that would kill for 10 bands let alone 100k . Sht an women was murdered for 3k tax returned check last week in America. Count your blessings.
So, because life is terrible in other places, we should just accept anything unfair in our society.
That's real sound logic, sir

The pay was pretty bad for those guys. Looks like an average UFC PPV. The main event guys get low six figures, while everyone else gets low to mid five figures.
These guys are rarely ever featured on HBO or Showtime, so these guys aren't household names yet. But Chocolatito was getting over half a mil per fight, so paying guys 25k to fight on the co-main event is ridiculous.Comment
