50 pounds in six weeks. thats not an excuse. he was drained. roy knew it. its funny roy fans call that an excuse but roy jones losing 18 pounds in eight months is used to discredit the tarver and johnson knockouts. james toney was not fit to fight. period. roy beat a shell of toney.Comment

There would be as much chance of Hopkins knocking out Toney as there would of Toney knocking out Hopkins........very slim.Comment

Yeah 50 lbs....So he say's.
Again, he lost massive amounts of weight for every single fight he has ever had. Why is Roy different? Other than the fact Roy made him look like Toney had never had a fight before whilst not leaving first gear.Comment

In the fight with Jones in 93 Hopkins was an ineffective agressor. And he wasn't even all out agressor, because first time in his life he was severely behind in the speed-reflexes department. Everebody wants to point out that Hopkins was "green", but Jones was green himself and also seemed to have a hurt hand. Jones that fought Toney was at his optimal weight and ideal physical shape. So it is incorrect to use Jones as a measuring stick on how Toney would do against Hopkins. 2000s Hopkins was a complete fighter and he knew how to fight on a back foot. He would definitely coarse to easy UD over Toney. But I'm not sure that 90s Hopkins was capable of that. He was more agressive ("executioner"). And trying to be aggressive against Toney is a bad-bad idea... Interesting fight that would've been...Comment

If you fight at a slow pace aggressively then yes that plays into his hands but Hopkins wouldn't do that.
Hopkins has many ways he can win.Comment

LOL, There's no doubt James Toney probably could have pulled it off had he not eaten himself out several weight classes.Comment

u are a **** dude remember Hopkins got hurt bad by Segundo Mercado, Robert Allen , others. Good lord . Toney is way more accurate and tough than those two. Plus Hopkins smothers puches on inside against guys . However Toney fights great on inside. Toney would hit him to the body alot and counter him effectively. Plus Hopkins tried to quit two or three times in his career. Dont tell me i dont know **** you ass.Comment
