Don't know if he would have knocked him out, but he would have soundly defeated Hopkins. Which is why Hopkins hid out at 160 for so long. Didn't want to face any of that prime talent at 168. Instead, padded his record with an endless string of no-hopers and blown up WWs.Comment

I don't consider Hopkins opponents top level. He fought journeymen and blown up welters on his way to the top. His best win was Tarver. Given their respective fighting styles, I give Toney a considerable edge. He would not have put up with Bernard's dirty tactics and roughhousing.Comment

He put up with Tiberi and Thadzi's rough house tactics and lost to both.
Toney showed nothing to suggest he could beat Hopkins.Comment
