If Taylor wins he has to be # 2.
If Taylor wins=#1 P4P??

Yeah he removed Bhops from the number 1 spot and if he wins against Winky also beat the number 2 in the list but he won't get
PBF's position not until Pbf loses. He'll most probably be at number 2.Comment

LOL he's already top 5 in any unbiased p4p list. You don't beat the #1 guy TWICE and get left out of the top 5. Especially when you're undefeated on top of that. I remember Mosley beat De La Hoya in a close fight and immediately jumped into the top 3. DLH wasn't even #1 at the time. No way can you discredit Taylor by keeping him any lower than 5 or 6.Originally posted by King Jaffe JofferMaybe, I think its how he wins. If he dominates Winky, he will be top 3, hell maybe even number 2. But if he wins in a bs decision.... He moves up to top 9 maybe. Or if he wins a clear cut victory but not dominant, I think he should be top 5Comment

I think you're misinterpreting me. I commend Taylor for taking on the best; but to be p4p Tops...you have to do more than secure a win or even fight the best. You have to leave the impression that if you fought in any division, you would dominate based on your skills and talents.Originally posted by mECHsLAVEHe's fighting the hardest guy to look good against in the sport of boxing, and he fought the second hardest guy to look good against in his last two fights, and won. And the guy he beat just went on to utterly dominate the recognized LHW champ.
It's easy to SHOW IT when you fight losers and guys coming off major losses to other fighters. When Mayweather fought Castillo, most thought he lost the first and won the second. But he was far from impressive in either fight.
Taylor could go out and fight some of Hopkins left-overs (Eastman, Hakkar, whoever) and dominate them in a way that would make your head spin, but he's not about showcase fighting, he's a champion and wants to fight the best, and sometimes in order to beat defensive, slow-pace counterpunchers, you can't look that impressive. Hopkins is one of the toughest guys to beat in the sport. Taylor did it twice. I don't think he should be penalized in a P4P list because he wants to fight the best and does what it takes to beat the best.
Taylor is a credit to boxing, and the sport would be light-years ahead of where it is now if every fighter had his desire to fight the best, before and after winning championships. There is no fighter in the sport I respect more than Taylor right now, whether he can beat Winky or not, that's a fight that most champions in his position simply would not take.
As you stated, Taylor got two wins over Bernard Hopkins, who just turned in a command performance against Tarver. Now, tell me truthfully, did Jermain Taylor overwhelm you with his performances against B-Hopp? If the answer is anything other than "yes"...he's not #1.Comment

Of course it does; but Robinson was p4p the best because of his dominane at 147. The fact that he went on to middleweight glory in his later years was icing on the cake. Taylor so far has beaten an old William Joppy and escaped with two quasi-controversial decisons over Hopkins....that is not the resume of the P4P best...not to me; and shouldn't be for anyone.Originally posted by Smokin'K-Dogg:
