His business has grown. It takes money to make money. We don't know what has been spent so far, but we do know that Haymon has a growing army of American world champions, and a virtual monopoly of a growing Showtime budget.
Nobody has more power in boxing than Haymon does. So isn't it possible he isn't a fool? And that perhaps you've either read false information about him or misunderstand his actions?

if this is true this also doesnt change that mikey could fight anyone and still get this money since its not part of the official purse. he chose lipinets which means he is not interested in fighting good fighters or that haymon is bribing him and will only give him that big money if he fights bums.

its public record. hundreds of millions.
every year his power grows...hmm yea i remember a couple years ago he had fights on every network every week...
Haymon has more control than ever of the Showtime budget and the Showtime budget is larger than ever. Haymon has more world champions than ever. His world champions are becoming more well known than ever.
yes he has a monopoly on the showtime budget because he ran out of his own money.
thats why his fighters almost never fight.
his fighters have to sit idle and rarely fight.
How many times did Andy Ruiz fight last year? How many times did Viktor Postol fight last year?
You ***** about Haymon because he's actually built a stable of fighters you care about watching. We could go through the Top Rank or Golden Boy stables and find plenty of fighters who only fought once or not at all.

Unless it came with a contract that would be the only way I could see it being true but Garcia says hes still a free agent and can fight on whatever network so theres no scenario to why they would pay him that much. It doesnt even matter I just hate when people buy into the Pbc bullshmidt

there was this in october: IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. (22-0, 19 KOs) is promised a purse of $3.5 million for his next fight in December or January, according to Dan Rafael.
but then...
Spence's purse was a reported $1.2 million for the fight and Peterson took home $600,000 in a losing effort.
so that tells us either the 3.5 million is a lie or that haymon is paying them behind the scenes on top of their official purse. if haymon is paying them behind the scenes that means: the opponent doesnt matter at all since haymon is paying them outside of the contract, or two: haymon will only pay them that much if they fight certain opponents he wants aka protecting them. if hes willing to pay mikey 3.5 for lipinets but not linares that is grade a protection. bribing your fighters to fight bums? wow that would be low.
This came out because ODLH offered $2.5 million to Spence to fight Cotto, but he would also have to sign a long-term contract with GB. ODLH was saying, how he believes every fighter needs a promoter.
(more than a little ironic coming from the first ever self-promoting boxer).
However, I seriously doubt over 200 professional boxers, including many world champions, are staying with someone who promises purses than delivers purses a fraction of what was promised. Why would Spence be quiet, if he was promised $3.5 million but was only paid $1.2 million? Why would he still be with Haymon? Do you not think he has received offers from every promotional company for years? And Haymon is lying to him about his paydays? And Spence stays with the guy who promises him millions than pays a fraction of that?
Rafael has absolutely no credibility. You might as well quote an anonymous blog as Rafael, neither has any authority.

I really like this fight, haven't seen Linares outboxed just outslugged, and he's the bigger guy with more pop. Should be a more interesting puzzle for Loma to solve than anything at his current weight class.
