There are some fights that actually need to be built up, and this one is one of them. In another fight or two this fight would be massive than now. If either loses before then it means they aren’t good enough.

Mikey will not be A side just for beating Lipinets and Linares. Garcia Broner didnt even crack 1 million viewers while Loma was able to get 2 million to watch him fight Rigo. Its no comparison Loma is a much bigger star than Garcia already. Loma has 570k Instagram followers and growing every day and Mikey has less than 150k. Loma will be A side for sure. There are still many good fights for Loma right now. Nobody even knows who Lipinets is, Mikey is going backwards

Simply put, fairness isn't about everything being equal, but about leveling the playing field so that people get what they need when they need it.

If you wait a year to try to build the fight, Garcia will likely outgrow 135 and we will have to do some sort of undesirable catchweight that will mar the fight.

Neither fighter will become a superstar a year from now. Just do the fight now while the weights are still aligned enough.

Ever since ODH started incessantly using "marinate" to describe making GGG vs Canelo fight, it has had a stench to it. Loma vs Mikey should be this year, in the fall. Promoters are ruining boxing. Mikey comes down to 135 for Linares and then it should be Loma. Just do it.
