Yea, he loaded his gloves only for an old Mosley but not a young undefeated champion Cotto nor any other fight in his career. They just happened to come up with that brilliant idea while drinking corona's the day before the Mosley fight. Makes sense.

      I voted yes.

But the real answers is how many articles were there, from the best reporters of Arum pursuing it along with the splits and negotiations. Only naive boxing fans don't question the behind the scenes offers. Floyd made how much against De La Hoya?

Mayweather became the #1 star after De La Hoya. It's undeniable. Margo would've brought more.money than Williams. If anything I rather talk about Williams vs Mayweather as a more realistic challenge, not Margo.

Lol just cause he beat cotto doesnt make margarito the bogeyman. Lots of fighters beat cotto and lots of fighters have beat margarito. Neither guy was anything special. Margaritos plodding style and his slow punches wouldn't have touched Floyd. You'd be looking at a 120-108 type of fight.

ummm just to keep it factual. No one has beaten cotto at that point but margarito.

Someone's got to be first. I'm a massive fan of the Mexican legends but margarito is far from one, was never anything special imo.

              I agree with this.

But Floyd is really tough and has a lot heart that people don't give him credit for. Floyd would probably last 10 rounds. Nobody walked away from a Marg fight unscathed, win or lose. Pac won 11 out of 12 rounds, but still laid in bed for four days from Margarito's punishment.

Margaridoe would have bloodied Floyd like he did Cotto.

floyd pretended to fight marg in 2006 therefore when he accepted less money to fight sharmba in 2005 its ok.

continue! who knows what magic we will find in this thread.
Speaking of what more you will find in this thread. Perhaps not magic, but maybe some more facts.

Mayweather filed a lawsuit against Arum on March 7 in Clark County (Nev.) District Court, claiming he is owed money from his two pay-per-view fights with his former promoter, against Arturo Gatti in 2005 and Zab Judah in 2006.

Mayweather claims he was supposed to receive 85 percent of Top Rank's net revenues from the Gatti fight (which was co-promoted by Main Events), and 80 percent of its net from the Judah fight (co-promoted by Don King), on top of base purses of $3.1 million and $5 million, respectively.

Arum counters that his company, Top Rank Inc., does owe Mayweather money, but that the Grand Rapids boxing champion owes the company even more, so payment was withheld. He said he plans to countersue Mayweather and other unspecified individuals involved with the boxer.

In October 2005, Top Rank sued HBO, Mayweather, Haymon, and Goossen-Tutor Promotions, alleging contractual interference for arranging a Mayweather-Sharmba Mitchell fight without the promoter's consent.

Included in that filing was a letter, from HBO to Top Rank, in which the network disclosed plans to opt out of its then five-year-old contract with Mayweather and Top Rank, which effectively would break the promoter's ties to the fighter, since a single three-way contract bound all the parties together.

Arum was flabbergasted, since HBO had no intention of breaking ties with Mayweather, but withdrew the lawsuit the same month it was filed, after agreeing to a new two-year contract. The new deal included a $750,000 buyout, which Mayweather exercised less than six months later, after beating Judah, so he could pursue a fight with Oscar De La Hoya.

Sooooo, Arum didn't even come up off all the money for Gatti in 2005, and you bought that little line about him offering 7 million for a fight with Margarito that HBO nor much of anyone else wanted at that time (note he "got" 3 million for Gatti and 5 Million for Judah. GOT in quotation marks because Arum owed money from these fights!). Yea. Maybe he wanted to end the contract because Top Rank wasn't paying him what they owe. Read that carefully now.

Oh, and pay special attention to the part that says the settlement was what allowed for the $750,000 buyout to exist. If it wasn't for HBO helping him to get out of his contract with Top Rank at that time, he wouldn't have been able to buy out his contract when he did!!! You just pointed out the whole reason that he was able to get out of his Top Rank deal and get bigger fights for bigger money. Great job there buddy!!!!

                Any more questions?

You take some quotation that can't be found online from a butthurt Bob Arum after Mayweather ditches him and run with it, not knowing that he was also currently ripping off Mayweather.

Maybe Mikey can help you put together that this was bullshlt being that Top Rank did the same damn thing to him:

Interviewer: What about Top Rank claiming that you turned down fights?

Mikey Garcia: Those fights were never offered.

Interviewer: Did Floyd Mayweather talk to you being that this was very similar to his situation.

Pay attention to what he says about Top Rank. You might learn the error in your ways. And next time do some research before you start crying. The information is out there if you look for it. You were wrong, and everything here is documented.

For some reason The only ones who didnt want it are it are the nut gobbling Floyd groupies on here.

Floyd ducked out on possible fights with Cotto,Williams,Margarito, and others when he "retired" the first time. They all fought each other and he came back and fought everyone 5 years later lol. Smart man.

Everything you said is a lie. He didn't duck Cotto, Williams, or Margarito. This has already been proven. You dudes need to give up.

You're right. He just didn't fight any of them until years later when they had all beaten each other up.

Can't knock the man's business plan at all . He had guys like you acting like Ortiz and Guerrero where big competitive fights lol.
