People who watch this way are not included in the publicly released number, but SHO doesn't care because they'd rather keep subscribers happy than worry about public relations. HBO refuses to allow subscribers to watch boxing live on their app because they're determined to preserve the publicly released number.

#2 - SHO replays their fights later the same night. People who watch this way are not included in the publicly released number, but SHO doesn't care because they'd rather keep subscribers happy than worry about public relations. HBO refuses to allow a late night replay because they're determined to preserve the publicly released number.

#3 - SHO adds their fights to their app very quickly. Sometimes within hours. People who watch this way are not included in the publicly released number, but SHO doesn't care because they'd rather keep subscribers happy than worry about public relations. HBO makes subscribers wait several days before they can watch on their app because they're determined to preserve the publicly released number.

#4 - SHO includes the ENTIRE BROADCAST on their app. People who watch this way are not included in the publicly released number, but SHO doesn't care because they'd rather keep subscribers happy than worry about public relations. HBO, after making fans wait several days, still only posts fights to their app bell to bell, with all the pomp and circumstance cut out because they're determined to preserve the publicly released number.
Ratings count on the night the fight is watched live Not by the Apps or the replay later or how many different ways you can watch it on Showtime HBO beats Sho hands down eveytime Stop hating and just watch boxing

Just like in his last time I think they can match any offer as they have the first and final offer for the Parker fight.

I think HBO will bid massively for a potential Joshua vs. Parker unification fight.
If Showtime don't match an eventual HBO offer, then there is no guarantee Showtime gets the Joshua fight.
www.the******.com get the facts on the Showtime option on Joshua fights

That is precisely our point. HBO wants to make sure you watch the fights in a way that will be counted in the ratings. So they make it as inconvenient as possible to watch other ways.

SHO would rather be consumer friendly and make the fights as accessible as possible to their subscribers, even if it results in trolls on the internet criticizing their artificially low numbers.

Never worked for HBO. Worked for SHO, but that was a long time ago. Have no horse in the race at this point, network wise at least. It's just very clear SHO is extremely committed to boxing and HBO's commitment is halfhearted at best.

Many of us here grew up in the era where HBO boxing was king. A budget nearly 10x what the budget is now. HBO boxing was the shining light of the industry for many many years. It's just not that way anymore.

Jacobs is signed to HBO now, but wasn't when he fought GGG. It was a mandatory fight ordered by the WBA. Haymon had a stranglehold on welter & superwelter, but little to no power at middle. Jacobs-GGG was a low risk high reward bet on trying to steal complete control of middle from HBO. There was no rematch clause. Had Jacobs eked out a win, Haymon would have instantly had full control of another division. It would have been crippling to HBO. It was a chance worth taking.

Care to wager on that? They're already planning to make a run at UFC and if they get UFC, they're getting out of boxing instantly.
