www.the******.com get the facts on the Showtime option on Joshua fightsDon't Showtime only have an option on Joshua's next fight?
Just like in his last time I think they can match any offer as they have the first and final offer for the Parker fight.
I think HBO will bid massively for a potential Joshua vs. Parker unification fight.
If Showtime don't match an eventual HBO offer, then there is no guarantee Showtime gets the Joshua fight.Comment

That is precisely our point. HBO wants to make sure you watch the fights in a way that will be counted in the ratings. So they make it as inconvenient as possible to watch other ways.
SHO would rather be consumer friendly and make the fights as accessible as possible to their subscribers, even if it results in trolls on the internet criticizing their artificially low numbers.Comment

Never worked for HBO. Worked for SHO, but that was a long time ago. Have no horse in the race at this point, network wise at least. It's just very clear SHO is extremely committed to boxing and HBO's commitment is halfhearted at best.
Many of us here grew up in the era where HBO boxing was king. A budget nearly 10x what the budget is now. HBO boxing was the shining light of the industry for many many years. It's just not that way anymore.Comment

If our posts were really crazy with misinformation, you would have been able to prove it instead of lazily throwing out unfounded accusations.
Jacobs is signed to HBO now, but wasn't when he fought GGG. It was a mandatory fight ordered by the WBA. Haymon had a stranglehold on welter & superwelter, but little to no power at middle. Jacobs-GGG was a low risk high reward bet on trying to steal complete control of middle from HBO. There was no rematch clause. Had Jacobs eked out a win, Haymon would have instantly had full control of another division. It would have been crippling to HBO. It was a chance worth taking.Comment
