That is precisely our point. HBO wants to make sure you watch the fights in a way that will be counted in the ratings. So they make it as inconvenient as possible to watch other ways.

SHO would rather be consumer friendly and make the fights as accessible as possible to their subscribers, even if it results in trolls on the internet criticizing their artificially low numbers.

2018 is grim for Showtime.
At a time when people are sick of its fighters being put on the shelves for long periods of time.
There's great doubt it will be addressed next year.
The media is not even asking the right questions.
It's like they're not expecting any stark changes.

No. They only had an option on his last fight, but by picking up that option, they gained the rights to the fight after that as well. One of the reasons why Hearn wants to wait on the Wilder fight is because he knows HBO will make a massive offer to try to block it and if he does the fight next, he loses that leverage.
