Comments Thread For: Showtime To Slot in More Fights To 2018 Schedule

Because if they don't, it'll take place without them.
Doesn't matter what they want. Fight isn't happening without SHO.They will most likely wanna put the fight on HBO PPV.
Stop being so myopic. Haymon fighters only fight on HBO when there is everything to gain and nothing to lose. That does not apply to Wilder.Lou DiBella and Haymon fighters have fought on both HBO and Showtime in the recent years.
If Hearn is able to leverage AJ for a ton of HBO dates for Matchroom USA, AJ-Wilder is dead for 2018. You're living in a fantasy land. Just as HBO will do everything to stop AJ-Wilder from taking place on SHO, SHO will do everything to stop AJ-Wilder from taking place on HBO.If the deal is right then those figthers will fight on HBO.
Okay, well you're wrong. So what does it matter what you think if your thoughts aren't based on any insight, experience, knowledge or facts? It's very clear SHO is spending more money on boxing than HBO.I think HBO has more money in a potential bid war.
Top Rank leaving just facilitates HBO's demise.HBO will pretty much win now that Top Rank has left and they have more money.
HBO is supposed to stand for excellence. The best of the best. Once they become the clear #3 in boxing, boxing becomes a liability to the brand. Boxing's future on HBO is bleak at best.
You could be right, but if that happens, say goodbye to AJ-Wilder in 2018.Even though even though neither Peter Nelson nor Eddie Hearn will admit it, I think there will be a deal between HBO and Joshua.Comment

Showtime keeps killing it, while HBO becoming more and more irrelevant. Really looking forward to Ortiz-Wilder and Stevenson-Jack!Comment

I'm not a groupie for Showtime or HBO, and both are guilty. If Wilder/Ortiz actually happens, or if Stevenson/Jack gets scheduled....those are fights I'd like to see. It's funny when people get all "brand loyal" about a sports channel or a promoter. Wow! They're hauling out Rios again! Wow! Matthysse is getting a shot at a paper title!I hear that. Especially when you got big time compelling 50/50 matches like matthysse vs kiram, Kovalev vs mikhailkin, and cuadras vs arroyo coming up on HBO. Then showtime has the nerve to tease us with meaningless fights like wilder vs Ortiz. I'm with you on this one. Who really cares about about an undefeated knock out artist defending his title against another undefeated slick boxer labeled the boogeyman of the division because nobody wants to fight him??? Horrible fights indeed. LolComment

What i think will happen is Joshua will be moved over to HBO but only with a gurantee of him fighting in America at Prime Time.I think Joshua-Wilder will happen in 2018 but both HBO and Showtime will be forced to collaborate which will only help Hearn,Joshua,Haymon as it means everyone gets a piece of the pie and because Boxing is Dead in America you will have both Broadcasters Collabrating to create a Super event at Las VegasComment

"HBO will pretty much win now that Top Rank has left and they have more money." Top Rank left because HBO did NOT want to spend that money you're talking about! Why would HBO wanna "block" the biggest money fight in the boxing game today?

And more dates for Matchroom & Eddie Hearn in the US sure wont hurt.
It will only help their working relationship.Comment
