Just look at Broner's facial expression - including the picture in this very article - to realize that he's not a human specimen destined to do something serious with his life.

And please spare me the trademark "it takes guts to even get in a boxing ring" preach.

A fitting analogy with Zab Judah. I have never seen Broner as anything more than a Mayweather clone, albeit a good one.

However, Zab Judah was the closest I saw to a fighter who possessed all the necessary tools to be as good if not better than Mayweather.

After, his loss to Tszyu, Tszyu's trainer, Johnny Lewis remarked that 'as long as Zab keeps his focus outside of the ring he will become the heir apparent.'

Even without full dedication, Zab went on to become a multi-division champion, not to mention undisputed welterweight champion after beating Corey Spinks.

Broner is close to being Judah in that Judah was kind of gate keeper status, if you beat Judah it meant you were pretty good while nobody expected Judah to ever reach the top again and Judah was usually expected to lose in a lot of match ups.

That said, Judah became lineal and undisputed welterweight champ.

Also, I think head to head at 140/147 that prime Judah would outbox prime Broner. Broner's defense is weak and all he really has is size. Judah had fast hands and I think he would land on Broner and had enough power to keep Broner at bay in a sluggish do nothing fight for broner.

Obviously broner beats post prime gate keeper version of Judah. But late 20's Judah that fought Spinks and Mayweather beats Broner

In the midst of his rise, it became increasingly noticeable that Broner’s focus wasn’t always on boxing. Whether it be flushing money down the toilet in a video or a rap career that never really got off the ground, Broner’s attention was divided. And for someone with great talent, his commitment to his craft didn’t seem to be as firm as his dedication to being a personality.

          stop it

a broner focused 100% on boxing wouldn't beat maidana. a broner focused 100% on boxing wouldn't beat porter and a broner focused 100% on boxing wouldn't beat mikey. stop with this BS. they were just better fighters than him. broner is what he had shown already, nothing less, nothing more.

Its amazing how people will still make excuses for him. “All he has to do is be focused and AB could have been 100-0 with 78 kos and champion in 10 divisions. He was just young though and its a lot of pressure on such a young talent”.

Exactly, Broner was exposed way before Maidana. I never saw him as anything special, nothing at all.

AB lacks physical strength or punching power to hang with the WWs, and clearly not skilled enough to hang with the best JWWs.

He waits too long to throw punches, and he cant counter from the shoulder roll against decent comp. I think if he didnt try to copy Mayweather so much growing up and had a more conventional style he would have been a better fighter.
100%. I believe he went to Welterweight so he and Mayweather can be 1 and 2 with the world screaming about how their fight would be epic. Deep down he wants to be better than Floyd and maybe alil envious.

He also talked about sparring Floyd like it's some type of achievement. He said he won't mind if Floyd sent everyone out of the room as long as they spared, he wants to know who the better man is. Smh. He is nothing like Floyd, not even close.

The fact is if Adrien Broner goes and beats an undefeated hardened animal like Omar Figueroa he will grab the attention of the boxing world. Nobody expected him to take on this fight coming off the loss to Mikey. Props just for taking this fight and defending your status as a guy that fights everyone. The hardcore boxing fan respects this guy. You can't truly love boxing and hate this guy unless your a fuckboy straight up. Adrien Broner is boxing! Mcgregor has been ducking the truth for too long! You earn respect in this sport THROUGH Adrien Broner!

As far as marketability for super stardom, TV or PPV, Broner is done. He ruined his career, permanently, when he insulted the fans. And that is a boxing cardinal sin, never insult the paying customers.

That be said, I think Broner can beat and possibly KO Omar Figueora if the fight is at 140 and Broner comes in good shape. Broner came in way too light when he fought Mikey.

Figueroa is a slightly faster, slighlty more technical version of Maidana. It wioo be a long night for Broner, I oersonally think he is done...
