Comments Thread For: Is This Adrien Broner's Last Stand as a Contender?

By Andreas Hale - Once upon a time, Adrien Broner was being prepped as boxing's next big pay-per-view draw. The brash kid from Cincinnati had all the makings of a talent who could be a huge breakout star once Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao retired. After blitzing the super featherweight and lightweight divisions, Broner was riding high...

Lack of discipline and humility was what got to him.

I don't think many boxing fans take him serious as he once is now, that Maidana lost made such an big impact.

If he can turn around, go on a winning streak he might be a star again.

Broner is done. He can't just start taking boxing serious again, and be successful anymore. Too many young guys at 140, 147 have been busting their butts to get to the top and are hungry for glory.

Even tho he is 28 if he loses again im his next fight he should seriously atleast begin to think about retirement.

Ever since the maidana fight broner fights like he is shell shocked. No fighter once to get hit but he is extremely flinchy when he fights now.

Figueroa is tailor-made for Broner. If he can't beat Figueroa, then he may need to consider doing something else.

All Bark should retire and do something else. But I doubt he can.

broner is a bum and always will be. he was a product of careful match making. he was exposed by several fighters way before maidana. just a black hype job created by the media.

                  it's not his last stand

The man still brings eyeballs to the screen to watch him fight

He post some of the highest #s on whatever platform he fights on and regardless of who so as long as that's still the case he will keep getting chances

Of course his star will dim with continuous losses but all it takes is 1 win to turn everything around

Broner just doesn't have the focus and he's been a different fighter since the Maidana fight but Can still talk his sh.it and get people interested in his fights.

If he can stay disciplined I think he can still make some noise at 140 because it's pretty wide open since Bud left. But who knows if he can do it

He was never that good, he beat up much smaller guys and even then he lost to Pounce De Leon.
AB lacks physical strength or punching power to hang with the WWs, and clearly not skilled enough to hang with the best JWWs.

He waits too long to throw punches, and he cant counter from the shoulder roll against decent comp. I think if he didnt try to copy Mayweather so much growing up and had a more conventional style he would have been a better fighter.
