Khan is a much bigger draw then Brook was yet GGG traveled to the UK to fight in his backyard and not the other way around like Khan did. GGG made peanuts fighting Brook. Khan and Chavez both being the B side to Canelo made more then GGG did in any fight of his career including the Brook fight. You can cry and make excuses for why GGG isn't a bigger star doesn't change the fact that Canelo is the draw. He generates and earns more money then GGG and it's not close just made 20M this year in a fight without GGG. GGG made 2M this year against Jacobs he doesn't have to travel anywhere his opponents travel to him. GGG can either sit and wait for a rematch that pays him huge money or continue fighting for 2M paydays against mandatories or Jacobs and risk losing. Canelo can offer Lemieux or Saunders more money then GGG can and still take home 15-20M.

He's only fought in the UK once and that was because of Brook who was the draw in that fight not him. He hasn't been back since and never fought there before Brook. Canelo has been a huge draw ever since he was kid was a big draw in Mexico then became a big draw in Boxing's capital Vegas. He doesn't need to go anywhere else. What we know is at no point has GGG ever been a big draw. If he was he'd be fighting in that dump kazaphukstan but he's not. He's not fighting in the UK either and he just fought for the first time in his career in Vegas. The reason he hasn't fought in vegas prior? Simple because his promoters knew he would flop if he did.

There are many reason why Canelo is a big draw and sure being Mexican is part of it. But stop this BS that GGG not being Mexican is why GGG can't sell. It didn't hold back the biggest 2 stars of this past generation Floyd and Pacquiao who neither are mexican. Pacquiao specifically is filipino which don't make up much of the US population and his biggest rival was Marquez who is Mexican yet he never came close to selling like Pacquaio did through out his career. There are many reasons why GGG has flopped on PPV and isn't a draw and not because he's not Mexican. Some fighters have "it" and some don't. Maybe it's because he sounds like Borat, maybe he has a shyt promoter instead of one of the big boy promoters, maybe it's because he fought nothing but garbage cans until his mid 30's, maybe it's because he called out smaller fighters to come up but refused to ever himself move up in weight, maybe it's because the moment he did step up in class he got a questionable decision against Jacobs and a draw against Canelo. Either way you crying about it won't change the fact GGG can't sell PPVs without Canelo while Canelo has sold 6M PPVs without GGG.

Trip G seems to be a fighter that is better the more active he is. 8 months between fights would be the longest he has ever gone, if memory serves. He sure should not wait to much past the turn of the year to get something in writing and get training.

The first was a great fight, but I worry a rematch might see the 2 of them more cautious against each other. Trip G needs to be more active as he has seen a jab first style may control the fight but won't get the points victory. Alvarez has seen that his inactivity against the ropes looking for counter punching was kind of dumb and if Trip G been any more active would have lost a fight he is completely capable of winning. You would THINK that would inspire 2 real fighters to be more active. But I bet it will lead to both boxers trying to wait out a big shot and force the other into making a mistake.
