I find it mind boggling that this literal insane opinion is still floating around out there.

Roy Jones made James Toney look like he'd have never boxed a day in his life. Roy Jones could fight James Toney with one hand tied behind his back 100 times and every single time he would dominate him.

Two total different calibur of fighters.
Nunn and McCallum at their best would've beaten a '94 Jones, Johnson possibly too. If we take them from '91.

Toney is the most skilled fighter we've seen for me. Not seen enough of Joe Gans, Sam Langford or Charley Burley to compare.

James improved after the Sanderline and Merqui fights by getting better sparring at Kronk and studying film of Archie Moore and Ezzard Charles. He was always improving

Jones came out the woodwork when everyone was washed up, his dad hid him for years in Pensacola

Do you have a source for this because if my memory serves me correctly same day weighs ins were not used in the 1990's.

            Speculation and unlikely.

But what we do know for a FACT is Roy Jones absolutely dominated James Toney like a man fighting a young child.

              Ohhhhhhh ok that's fantastic so let me get this straight;

"He was at his best and active and in shape at 160"

Williams and Sosa almost beat him at 160 "He hadn't studied Ezzard Charles yet" (legit the funniest excuse I have heard to date)

Tiberi beats him "he wasn't in shape for that one" Convenient !!

Moves up to 168 where cutting weight should be easier and get's embarrassed by Roy Jones "He was out of shape"

And you have the audacity to say "truth hurts"?!?!?!?!

What you are saying is TOTAL fantasy.

What's your excuse for Reggie Johnson dropping him like a sack of **** and making him look like a total amatuer at 160?

I vividly recall Sat afternoon news showing the weigh-ins of the Eubank-Watson fights that day, hours before entering the ring

It was the injury to Watson that caused previous-day weigh-ins to occur for safety reasons

It's common knowledge that Toney was on a drip in hospital to keep him alive the night before the Jones fight - He clearly looked odd.

In 1990 the kid was like 21 years old on a learning curve

Jones should've taken out a dead body if he was some kind of great fighter, but instead chose to bounce out of range like a rabbit all night

Toney beat the extremely good Johnson
