You just preceded me on this, and I concur. He was NASTY that time, and Griffin was an awkward fighter. That was definitely Jones Jr at his very best. Total annihilation.

Between you and me, I totally agree (except the "fat as hell" bit; he could have been a force only if he had eaten and trained properly, which he didn't want to do).

However, when Iron Dan is around we're not allowed to fantasize. So stop now!

Yeah that was a dominant performance, he was landing those big left hooks from the opening bell, my favourite performance will always be the Richard Hall fight though, he was unreal that night against albeit limited opposition

He absolulety would have been a force despite the fact he lost to Peter twice and has zero good wins at the weight.

James Toney fantasy land is great

Depends on what you mean? Best opponent, best performance or best achievement win?

Jones doesnt score high in any of those categories but Ill list them anyway

Best opponent (at the time of match up) was Toney

Best performance was the annihilation of Griffin, the first and only time Jones disposed of a certain type of opponent the way other greats would

Best achievement imo was not the HW title but coming back and beating a very game, very good, prime Tarver for the top LHW spot.

James Toney. It was a mega fight without the "mega."

I hear Toney used to drink Coke between rounds in the gym. Dude just loved his eats, sweets and treats. If he would have had RJJ's discipline, who knows how far he would have gone?
