This seems very likely, I think Hearn would do a better job. But I imagine Wilder won't accept unless Joshua is part of the deal

dibella and haymon have no promoting skills at all. they think buying time buys on network tv is good enough. i bet they were trying to protect wilder because they didnt believe in him but wilder himself probably didnt want all those bums and easy fights. he needs to ditch haymon and take that big whyte moeny

DiBella isn't Wilder's promoter. Wilder just fights on cards that DiBella puts on. He isn't contracted to him.

Haymon is an advisor not a promoter.

So effectively, Wilder has no promoter, hence not really getting any promotion anywhere.

It seems to be the way now, especially in USA. I believe that's partly the reason these good fighters are unknown. People like Spence, Thurman, Wilder and more have no fixed promoter as far as i know, just an advisor in Haymon.

I'd imagine they do it for financial reasons, i.e promoters taking large cuts of the money and also being tied to them for x amount of years/fights. On the flipside, you don't really have a dedicated guy who see's that the more money you make, the more money they make. That's why Hearn is rarely out of the media, uses social media and does a lot of youtube videos with boxing channels. He never stops promoting his fighters.

It does have it's pros and cons. Seriously though, imagine 20 years ago you had an American heavyweight like Wilder, 39-0 with 38 KO's. Look's the part, has a bit of personality and just happens to be WBC World HW champ. He would have been a massive star regardless of opposition, most casuals don't care, they just want KO's. He even has a nice back story with getting into boxing to provide for his sick daughter.

Wilder has everything going for him except a team that has no clue how to promote him.

Has Wilder ever been on a talk-show or anything? Has he appeared in any adverts or TV outside of boxing?

A promoter or manager should be getting him this stuff easily.

Hearn thinks he is holding Aces. Joshua barely won the title and living on an extremely overinflated hype-train. Fury already beat Wlad in his last fight, and did it without absorbing punishment. in reality, Joshua is fishing in the same tiny pond (of good heavyweights) that Wilder is. There is no reason for Hearn to treat Wilder like a side show. If Joshua wants to treat is home crowd to a bunch of fights with ninnies, then let him have it. I would want to wait for Wilder to get old, too.
I like to call it the Manny-Pac effect.

He's had plenty of help using Joshua's name.
