Oh yea he is. He just beat the a fighter in Kovalev that was P4P no.3 and has many quality wins with no official losses, (I do think he lost the first Kov fight tho)

You cannot name me an active fighter with a better resume than him right now. With WINS all of those big fights.
If you can, only then will you have the right to even ARGUE if he's number one right now p4p.
Regardless of if you like him or not.
That's the story of his career. His biggest wins are always surrounded with asterisks and controversies.
He's not #1. Nobody is imo.

Should make a poll.Originally posted by Szef View PostNo, he's not.Originally posted by GhostofDempsey View PostHe wouldn't be my P4P #1, and we will likely see a new #1 after the GGG/Canelo fight.Originally posted by Sheldon312 View PostI rank Loma and GGG higher. Spence and Thurman will take his spot when they fight each other.

the funny thing is hes not even a very good boxer. i said the same thing about wlad for years and was proven right when fury easily outboxed him since wlad couldnt cheat. we saw a similar thing happen to ward when kovalev beat him quite easily but the decision was atrocious. he really cant compete without his tricks and fouls so im not sure how hes the "best boxer in the world" its an absolute joke. guys like loma, garcia, ggg, roman dont need to do that sh-it to win. since this is a fantasy list we can fantasy adjust for taking away the corruption that allows ward to win and without it hes not even close to the best.

I don't feel a victory for Golovkin elevates any higher than his current sixth I have him occupying.
To question GGG's win over Jacobs you have to question Ward's first win over Kovalev which was an obvious robbery. His rematch win was dirty as hell. Prior to Kovalev he was fighting no-hopers in his last few fights. All things considered, I would say either GGG or Canelo have earned the top spot based upon the outcome of their fight.

Couldn't be because his last two fights were highly controversial. It's because we're ggg fans. Here, have a cookie now.
