Oh yea he is. He just beat the a fighter in Kovalev that was P4P no.3 and has many quality wins with no official losses, (I do think he lost the first Kov fight tho)
Is Ward really P4P #1?

Ward was the P4P King as soon as Floyd left. I know you saying the nelo/lil g fight will be the new #1 only cuz you think lil g is going to win but if he loses do you really think nelo is better than Ward? lil g lost to Jacobs & ducked Andre Ward.Comment

I'm sorry but I'm not gonna sit here and pretend he's #1 because he has two wins over Kovalev. One was a close fight that he did not win, the other was a fight he most probably would've won fair and square, but he didn't. He repeatedly hit Kovalev below the belt, hell the fight even ended on a low blow. Haven't seen anything like that before. How anyone can even try to debate that he's NOT number one in the world right now in boxing just amazes me. I can't stand the hate against some specific/particular boxers sometimes. It's depressing.
You cannot name me an active fighter with a better resume than him right now. With WINS all of those big fights.
If you can, only then will you have the right to even ARGUE if he's number one right now p4p.
Regardless of if you like him or not.
That's the story of his career. His biggest wins are always surrounded with asterisks and controversies.
He's not #1. Nobody is imo.Comment

Stop trolling. For one thing, I never predicted a winner of Canelo/GGG. It's a 50/50 fight. For another, DLH owns ring magazine and promotes Canelo, so if Canelo wins you can bet your EBT card that he ranks #1 P4P before the year is over.Comment

look at the ones who said no...lol..all GGG ball washersComment

the funny thing is hes not even a very good boxer. i said the same thing about wlad for years and was proven right when fury easily outboxed him since wlad couldnt cheat. we saw a similar thing happen to ward when kovalev beat him quite easily but the decision was atrocious. he really cant compete without his tricks and fouls so im not sure how hes the "best boxer in the world" its an absolute joke. guys like loma, garcia, ggg, roman dont need to do that sh-it to win. since this is a fantasy list we can fantasy adjust for taking away the corruption that allows ward to win and without it hes not even close to the best.Comment

I am looking at this through the eyes of Ring Magazine. Considering Oscar owns the magazine and if Canelo should win, I say he is P4P #1 before year's end.I don't see that personally, GGG arguably lost to Jacobs and Canelo really just shaded his way past a geriatric Cotto, not to mention didn't win a single round against Floyd.
I don't feel a victory for Golovkin elevates any higher than his current sixth I have him occupying.
To question GGG's win over Jacobs you have to question Ward's first win over Kovalev which was an obvious robbery. His rematch win was dirty as hell. Prior to Kovalev he was fighting no-hopers in his last few fights. All things considered, I would say either GGG or Canelo have earned the top spot based upon the outcome of their fight.Comment

How when lil g wouldn't dare share the ring with Ward?(He had his chance but said no in 36 minutes after team Ward presented the contract to lil g & company).Comment

I know they probably didn't teach you how to read in prison Larry (your gay magazine stash doesn't count), but I said the winner of Canelo/GGG likely earns the #1 spot, which is not a far-reaching conclusion when you consider De La Hoya owns Ring Magazine.Comment
