Remember in the early to mid 2000's when you would see a page in ring magazine that would show Lennox Lewis, De la Hoya, pretty boy Floyd, with Roy Jones in the middle and the tag line "The best fighters fight here"? How times have changed.

Frankly, both the Rafael ESPN article and this BoxingScene article based off the ESPN article, are more or less nothing burgers...with one tiny little quote from Peter Nelson that says:
This is what Rafael then wrote:
BoxingScene changed the wording oh so closely to come up with this....
Assuming RNS folds, which is not a given but who knows, HBO would be left with GBP, Golovkin, Gonzalez, Kovalev, Barrera. But honestly, I don't think HBO cares. It matters to us boxing fans, but I'm not sure how much boxing matters to HBO anymore.

I can give 2 sheetz. Gone are the days of megafights where everyone was hyped weeks/months prior.
Boxing's biggest star at the moment (Canelo) doesnt even speak English. The perceived pfp#1 Andre Ward has the personality of a rock. Who else is there that can capture the fans the way a Tyson, Floyd, Pac, Oscar, etc did? You have Deontay at HW but he's not active enough nor is there much competition in the HW class to create mega buzz unless he fights Wlad or Joshua overseas.
Nowadays you can catch the fight on YouTube just hours after it airs.

Haymon always gets his fighters the biggest contracts regardless of network.
Him working with HBO is nothing new.
The only fighter they have that can do 175k+ PPV's is Canelo. Sad to say, but, HBO boxing is officially dead.

HBO should just do more business with Al Haymon.
That would easily replace any star power that was lost with the exit of Top Rank's fighters.
