HBO Sports Executive Vice President Peter Nelson is not concerned with the recent departures of several Top Rank fighters from his network's airwaves. Last week, Top Rank officially revealed the details of their long-term plan to finalize a long-term television deal with ESPN, which is going to provide their stable with a bigger platform than HBO.

"HBO will continue forward by working closely with Golden Boy Promotions, Main Events, Roc Nation, K2 Promotions, and several others"

Good f#cking luck with that murderers row of kinda sorta dipsh^ts. TR was the deepest stable HBO was down with. But yea whats HBO supposed to say: Peter Nelson was quoted as saying "oh sh^t, oh sh^t, oh sh^t" or something?

This is a great example of the media doing a terrible job.

ESPN runs with the headline "HBO not worried," in a story clearly planted by HBO. Now, how could ESPN know if HBO is worried or not? It's not like HBO would admit that they were worried even if they were. So right off the bat, the headline is faulty.

If HBO had CLAIMED to not be worried, then ESPN could report that HBO *says* they're not worried (because again, how would ESPN know if they're truly worried since they'd never be honest about it). But ESPN can't write that, because HBO didn't actually say they weren't worried. That's just the damage control theme HBO wanted ESPN to run with without HBO ever having to say it.

So then you have lazy boxing scene, completely ripping off the ESPN story, and changing ESPN's headline from "HBO not worried" to "HBO not concerned."

Again, how could boxing scene have any idea if HBO is concerned or not? They have no clue. They're just tweaking the ESPN headline to make it less obvious how lazy their story is.

Is HBO worried? Is HBO concerned? Well HBO itself . . . no . . . because they don't give a **** about boxing anymore. They have much more important things to worry about.

But is Peter Nelson worried? Is Peter Nelson concerned? ***OF COURSE.*** HBO Boxing is falling apart and everybody knows it.

Cant blame Arum. HBO wasn't giving him dates to showcase his fighters.

To be honest, should ESPN be doing a story on their own TV deal?

                And HBO is not worried.

Do you know why? Remember the last time Arum left and took Pacquiao and his whole stable to Showtime? What happened? He was back to HBO with his tail between his legs in less than a year.

And I guarantee the same thing happens here.

HBO will pull a rabbit out of their hat by doing business with Haymon again.
