they'd have to be willing to double or triple their budget, give haymon virtually all of the dates, and guarantee shows on TBS or TNT as well.

    not gonna happen.

The worst thing I see in this is Lomachenko v Marriaga, I really wanted Rigondeaux or a move to LW in August and Garcia latter. HBO, Top Rank, ESPN, et al. will survive.

        of course he isnt concerned

hbo is payin fighters from smaller weight classes less money for good ratings. roman got 400k , cuadras 250k

hbo probably have internal polls that show them how many people would drop their subscription if hbo did fewer boxing shows and by the looks of it, the subscribers dont care about boxing that much

arum is mad that hbo is tryin not to air mismatches. thats smart by hbo and should be welcomed by boxing fans. ive noticed recently the only times they have aired mismatches is when they are guaranteed a big ppv fight down the line e.g. canelo or ward fighting guys like brand before kovalev

long gone are the days hbo are being hustled by haymon to pay extortionate purses for guys like berto.

and now HBO has the least power in boxing they've ever had and haymon has the most power in boxing he's ever had . . .

you sure the HBO/haymon split worked out well for HBO?!?

Let HBO Crash and Burn! Tired of the "Boxing With An Agenda" BS! Lampley like who he likes and his Agenda is to get the rest of the world (Mostly Dumb Down Casuals) to like what he like which is this Gatti vs Ward Toe To Toe Only style of boxing. Easy to tell fighters to fight that way when you're not the one being punched! Also look what is happening to Roman Gonzalez and how quickly he has declined giving HBO yes exciting fights but the lack of Defense and Head Movement is catching up to him and he seems to be declining already!

                *** HBO!

it's a battle for power and long term leverage. if you're focused on short term dollars, you don't understand business.

if HBO cancels boxing, those fired in the process won't feel any better because "HBO is making tons of money."

Yeah moving up and weight plays a factor absolute and moving up and weight and eating punches from bigger guys doesn't help either!
