What was Weeks supposed to do? Pause the fight? Kovalev was looking for an out. He wasnt fighting. You aren't supposed to either kneel over or turn your back on your opponent. He did both. It's very very hard to deal with a fighter who doesn't want to fight. And that was what Kovalev became in the 7th and 8th rounds.

Black Ref Weeks helped out a brother in Ward in America-fact

Weeks had to help a soul brother out and stop the fight. This is America and all brothers stick together. No russian is getting any breaks in the USA. Deal with it you Commie loving atheists. God Bless America.

Weeks seemed to be looking directly at the lowblows as they happened, so I would've expected him to call one of them. Otherwise I didn't expect anything else because kovalev just stood there hunched over instead of taking a knee. He gave the ref no choice (since the ref wasn't going to call the low blows).

Ward did back off, I think even he knew he was landing low, when kovalev hunched over he was expecting a verdict from the ref, which possibly wasn't exclusively an incoming stoppage.

People who don't really pay attention to the entire fight are the only ones complaining. The first low blow Meeks seperated them and gave Kovalev a break. The rest he didn't, why? Because they were not low blows. Real fans watch every single moment of the fight, one of the most exciting moments is when the fighters come face to face in the middle of the ring for the first time for the refs instructions. Now most people pay attention to the boxers and try to discern which fighter is more nervous and such, but fans like myself also watch the ref and listen to the instructions. Weeks pointed out what was fair on both fighters, and I hate (actually love) to tell you this but, except for the first low blow, all shots were clean based on Weeks instructions at the beginning of the fight.

The ref made a mistake by stopping it early but you can't disqualify someone without taking a point first. They are desperate to save the face of a so called beast who was going to get stopped soon anyway. This is pure sour g****s by a bully who was tamed by a better fighter.

Ok if you paid so much attention to the fight, then I'm going to show you something you clearly failed to notice.

The last punch of the fight...

I dare anyone to claim this is not a low blow!

              The decision should be overturned.

He didn't stop the fight because of the last punch. He stopped the fight because Kovalev wasn't defending himself. You are not allowed to sit in the corner hunched over like that. Period. Kovalev has no1 to blame but himself. The number one rule in boxing is "Protect yourself at all times." He didn't do that so the ref waived it off.

That may be a bit strong but a great right hand by Ward and then the low blows ...sorry bad decision.

It doesn't matter for two reasons.

One, Kovalev was already out on his feet by this point and might already have been stopped. It wasn't the last shot that stopped him.

Two, Kovalev was bent in half, not defending himself at all. With his ass to the ropes and bent over like that, how is Ward supposed to hit him accurately? The guy was covering up like a hedgehog.
