Actually, Duva is the only one who doesn't come across badly in this sorry saga. Everyone else comes off looking crap:

Kov - for marginalising JDJ and not listening to him, then denigrating him as a trainer, even saying he is a mitt-holder.

JDJ - for saying his first reaction to the offer was "how much"? Seriously, dude? You have a price?

Ward's Team: for this ridiculous attempt at mind games. Seriously, is this where boxing wants to go? Where trainers are made offers to switch sides before a fight? Do you know how ridiculous boxing would be if you can simply pay to disrupt a fighters whole camp? And not just that - are Team Ward that worried about Kovalev? I mean, as Dubin says, it was like making the "bully pee down their leg". Yeah, right.

As for Duva - at least she was not involved in this sorry episode. And anyway, it is Roc Nation who are fronting and running the promotion, as per their agreement.

Oh it's not this little saga I was talking about. I'm talking about her as a promoter in general. Although I thought she was a punk for this I will give her props on getting her fighter that shot for the IBF belt. If that's what you thought was going to happen- considering I don't think I've ever seen Ward stoop someone with a single body shot, especially at a higher weight-then there is no reason to listen to you about any fight prediction whatsoever.

But yeah, body punches are a part of boxing, being able to get inside and let those go, without being held at bay, is an example of out-boxing someone. It doesn't only have to be popping someone from the outside and slickly getting out of the way. The Mayweather style has gotten us used to seeing that as the only way to outbox someone, but making the other fighter fight your fight will always be out-boxing in my opinion.

Either way it's unlikely that Team Ward's attempt to "rattle" Kovalev would be successful. Kovalev was already angry enough about the outcome of their last fight (the decision that is). I just want to see the best man win. To the unbiased eye Ward did not beat Kovalev last time. Kovalev knows it and I think Ward does too. Ward was lucky to get that win. He knows he better dominate Kovalev this go around or doubts will still surface. And as for Kovalev prefight antics won't phase him. He's coming for blood this time. May the best man win this time.

Agree to disagree, I think outboxing is the fighter who does more work, brings more pain, more crisp in their delivery of punches and cleaner which is of course what Kovalev displayed in the fight and would've been a total shut out if Ward didn't make it ugly and a wrestling match!

Kov is a stubborn fighter and should've listened to Jackson on not wrestling with Ward!

Kov wanted to prove he can outbox the so called better boxer and as well show him he can outwrestle him as well!
