I think at its base, this highlights the discord in the kov camp for last fight. His corner was a mess to say the least and all parties involved know that as far as adjustments go, wards corner won the coaching matchup far and away.

Kov is a stubborn dude, he clearly didn't listen to jdj last fight. Whatever his Russian conditioning coach was telling him wasn't working either. No clue as to the tampering accusations, but this just highlights the fact that kovs training requires improvement to win.

Either way it's unlikely that Team Ward's attempt to "rattle" Kovalev would be successful. Kovalev was already angry enough about the outcome of their last fight (the decision that is). I just want to see the best man win. To the unbiased eye Ward did not beat Kovalev last time. Kovalev knows it and I think Ward does too. Ward was lucky to get that win. He knows he better dominate Kovalev this go around or doubts will still surface. And as for Kovalev prefight antics won't phase him. He's coming for blood this time. May the best man win this time.

Prefight antics rattled kov last time, why wouldn't they work now? He was so caught up in the hype that he admittedly blew his load in the fifth round and was gassed going forward. Kov doesn't come across as the scholarly temperate type. He's a fighter because he likes fighting and emotion can get him keyed up. But too much emotion can cause u to gas early, as was just exemplified. I'm not condoning mind games, but if one did want to use mind games kov seems like the type they'd work on.
