Are promoters freezing out PBC?

its business, you should only deal with people when it benefits you/company and not when it dont.
Why should any other promotion company/networks do PBC any favors?Comment

Nobody knows how much was spent, let alone how much was lost. What we do know is that HBO's budget is shrinking and shrinking while Showtime's budget is growing and growing. Haymon has nearly the entire Showtime budget to work with while Arum, Duva, DLH, K2, Roc Nation, etc all have to split the tiny HBO budget.
So if Haymon's goal was to eventually wind up with a near monopoly of big time US boxing, he's well on his way. The other promoters can't survive all having to split HBO's evaporating budget while Haymon has the growing Showtime budget practically all to himself.
NBC took the money and then made it clear they never had any interest in boxing. ESPN is undergoing massive budget cuts and isn't willing to pay for boxing.... some TV channels took the money and left, some took the money and didn't... And now that the "market is stabilised", the money will pour back with interest, right?... Smart business moves, no doubt...
But Haymon only needs one interested party and right now he has two (CBS & FOX). So he's sitting pretty.Comment

When it comes to major US boxing, the non-Haymon promoters supply their fights to HBO and the Haymon promoters supply their fights to Showtime. HBO & Showtime fighters rarely face each other (HBO & Showtime have worked together three times in history).
So this is why people pay attention to the TV networks because the network alliances play a large role in determining who will fight who.
It happens occasionally, but is generally avoided. The networks have been at war for decades and they don't want to risk the winning fighter's network gaining the upper hand. What is the reason for this? Why couldnt a HBO Fighter Fight a "Haymom" Fighter?Comment

Yet here they stand.they obviously did fail. pbc was originally created to bring back boxing to the "mainstream" and be their own league like ufc. they have lost money and nbc espn and spike gave them the boot. al gaymon failed miserably. I know it hurts you guys to admit which is hilarious by the way.Comment

Like already mentioned, there are still lots of fights that can be made inside the PBC house. I mean lots. You can write your own list and you'd wonder why these guys are not fighting each other. It's an insult to one's intelligence when here are these PBC fighters available and ready, and these fanboys blame Arum and Oscar, instead.
Swift vs Broner/Berto/Porter, Thurman vs Broner/Peterson, etc. etc.Comment

Thanks. Im still trying to understnad this though. Are ALL Sho Fights, PBC Fights? Because PBC Fights on different channels so All SHO Fights are PBC Fights, but not all PBC Fights are SHO Fights? When it comes to major US boxing, the non-Haymon promoters supply their fights to HBO and the Haymon promoters supply their fights to Showtime. HBO & Showtime fighters rarely face each other (HBO & Showtime have worked together three times in history).

Im not getting why HBO & SHO Fighters dont Fight each other. It would be like the AFC/NFC in the NFL not Fighting each other, or AL/NL in MLB. I thought the best should always Fight the best, so we Know who is king at each division. I firmly think every division should be unified show we have 1 champ at each class, all the way from Mimimum weight (105 #) to HW.Comment

Jacobs technically might have been considered an A-side within PBC (after the quillin fight), but his events were financial losers for Haymon, so Haymon risks NOTHING letting Jacobs fight off-PBC.I didn't say Jacobs was an A-side to GGG did I? Jacobs was a PBC A-side who headlined his own shows and got top billing. GGG is an A-side but he's a B-side to Canelo. Do you get it?
Don't comment if you can't follow the topic because it takes to much time explaining stuff to slow people like you.
As a matter of fact, I suspect that GGG-Jacobs was the only Jacobs fight that Haymon ever turned a profit on.....Comment
