I think canelo is more regional ( west and southwest) than national but I will wait to see the Chavez jr and ggg numbers.

AJ is already endorsed and sponsored by way some of the biggest companies in the world.. He’s gona be appering on major US shows like Jimmy Fallon Show, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Good Morning America and The Today Show.

Hes already been on Top Gear (The most watched tv show in the entire world) and got legends like Dre facetiming him. He’s good looking and has the body of a Greek God so expect to see him in movies soon too.

He speaks English so that reason alone will make him a worldwide star whereas Canelo is limited as only Mexicans relate to him.

AJ is a heavyweight, heavyweight has always been the most talked about division in boxing . Heavyweights like Tyson and Ali were the most popular athletes in the world, not just in boxing but all sports.

Canelo already hit his ceiling. The longer he takes to fight Golovkin the faster his star power will decline.

Joshua has a lot bigger fights in the future.

Assuming both fighters accept compelling fights going forward, Joshua has the long term edge since he belongs to the sport's marquis weight class and he also speaks English. A win against Wilder in Vegas (or London) would immediately propell Joshua above Canelo. Conversely, Canelo beating GGG would make him a bigger star.

Let's assume Canelo will go on to face Golovkin and AJ will go on to face Wilder and Fury; who will be the face of boxing in 3 years time?

Who in your view has more star potential between Canelo and Anthony Joshua?
Anthony Joshua can promo in English; Alvarez is starting to, but he's still not all that comfortable in English. Add that Joshua is a 6'6 big-punching heavyweight and it's really not anymore complicated than that.

Anthony Joshua has the potential to come to the US, do the late night circuit, work through ESPN and the NYC radio scene, and even the daytime chat shows (The View)
